Why call them cowards? Maybe they don't agree with you on this issue, just like most of us here. Rather than name call, you've got a lot of work to do. You've got to convince at least two thirds of America that the 2nd Amendment should be altered. You're not there. You're not even close...but at least you realize that that'll be what it'll take

"Our approach" is not working because it is not being applied, just discussed on a message board.

As long as mental illness is celebrated, supported with medical interventions and pharmaceuticals, and not taken seriously for what it is, there will be no change. In fact, it follows that we should only expect more of these tragedies.

Now that you've had a good night's sleep and sobered up, do you still feel the same way? There are 50 million homes in the US with guns, if it was purely, or even remotely near the top of the list for these events, we'd have no kids left in school.
The greater link at this point might be juveniles who've been treated by psychologist, or more specifically, juveniles with gender dysphoria (even as adults,) can't have access to weapons - not just guns as we see "knives" are being used in places where guns are banned.
This is a mental health issue

Being deranged is a symptom. In order to reduce this sort of thing we have to be able to be honest about the various root causes and solutions.

Also, on the surface the parents appear culpable.

Something should be done about the doctors and parents transitioning kids. All of these people should be stopped. It is creating a lot of school shooters. Targeting conservative families has got to stop.

I wonder if we'll get the details on this dude's transition. Was it purely his decision? Did he talk to anyone about it? How did his parents respond? Did he seek counseling? Was any kind of mental health treatment part of the deal?

well his parents sponsored his name change because he changed his name before being a legal adult. So I would assume they were supportive. The real question I'd like to know, was he on any hormone treatments.
