They basically took the NCAA record away from Eric Berry. Yes he was good at the "rover" position, but I believe we could have won at least seven games with him at safety too, if not more!

playing the rover position did nothing but solidify his draft stock. not a bad trade off for the int record, imo.

Not that big of a deal. It's just a record. It's not like we would have hung a banner up on the side of neyland procurring that we hold the most yds after INT record. Come on, just let it go.

Considering the miracle the former staff worked in transforming Crompton from someone who was almost universally regarded as the worst QB in UT history to a guy just about all of us have tremendous respect for I'd call it a wash.... EB is going to get paid shortly and it wouldn't surprise me if Crompton gets a shot at the NFL also.... Which NOBODY thought would happen back in August....

Please move on and quit exonerating the last coaching staff by remembering:banghead2: his work.

Our D played well considering the level of players we were left with later in the season. The defensive coordinator was one of the best in the nation. EB did what he had to help the team. After all, it is a team game.

IF EB were worried about getting the record, he would come back to play his senior season

So are you saying that personal achievement is more important than winning games? I thinnk I would trust Monte's judgement on where Eric needed to play in order to give us the best chance to win. I would have loved to see EB get the record, but I would rather have victories! :good!:

You know piss on those guys (I hope that the term is not considered to vile to use on this web site).

It really is time to move on. We have a new head coach who wanted to be here inspite of the situation that was left here for him to deal with.
