ANOTHER Mock Class, after our new run of commits.

Justin King at DB? How does that work? I thought some said he could end up with his hand on the ground at DE, not covering wideouts at DB

I think I will take some of whatever you are smoking/drinking to think we will get Landon Collins.

Count out Dalton Santos too. Everywhere i read is that even though he loved the visit to Tennessee, Texas A&M is easily his number 1 and where everyone expects him to commit. Of course, anything can happen in recruiting tho.

The class is overly optimistic. The offense looks spot on, but the defense is where you it looks a little off.

I don't see Bullard, Tomlinson, Dawson, or Collins signing with UT on NSD. Tomlinson and Dawson are possiblities, but we aren't the leader ATP. Bullard and Collins are huge pipe-dreams. Just don't see either of those happening at all.

I would replace Bullard on the DL with Ryan Watson. He has named TN his leader.

I would also replace Nick Dawson with Tyrone Neal. TN seems to be in good standing with him. It has been reported that Nick Dawson's dad wants his son to play ball at UT, but ATP I feel Louisville and Clemson to strong to overcome.

I feel you have UT taking WAY too many DBs. I have already mentioned I see no way UT picks up Collins, but I also feel Redmond goes elsewhere as well. I think UNC gets him with possibly M.State being the dark horse. At DB I would look for Jordan Diggs. The coaching staff was apparently very impressed with his workouts at camp.

And on a last note, I wouldn't mark off I'Tavious Mathers at RB yet either. Besides that you offensive class looks pretty accurate. The defensive class will turn out much different than what you have though IMO.

No Mathers. We will get a JUCO DE and Watson. O' Brien and up to 2 JUCO DTs.

Diggs could be our surprise. Coach Dooley, thus far, has always swung a recruit late.

Yeah, I know. Right after I say that about Mathers he releases a Top-4 that doesn't include UT. I thought we still had a chance. Oh well. I would have liked for UT to do a little better than Cross and Hill at RB. I'm just not overly impressed.

I agree with the DL. Autry and Lewis at DE with possibly another and Jacobs, O'Brien at DT. I think UT lands Watson, but IMO he will play DT at UT. He already weighs 270+.

And yeah Diggs could definitely be that surprise recruit. I think UT either lands Diggs or McNeil at the safety position. I would prefer McNeil because I feel he is the better player and we could also land his teammate Lawry who could play CB. Because I don't see Redmond signing with UT.

We aren't getting Redmond.

I think we get McNeil anyways, actually. Which brings up the point, how many are we taking? Have to save a spot for Orta and already have a few on board.

If Watson is athletic enough he could stay at end. Depends on what a college weight room and nutrition plan does to him. He may lean up if the weight is bad. He may turn into a man beast, too.

I agree. Redmond to UNC or Miss. State.

I hope you are right with McNeil. He brings the wood and is argueably the best safety in the state of Texas. And he would also be bringing his teammate Lawry who could play CB.

I am not sure on how many DBs we take this year, but it has puzzled me a bit. We too, what, 7 last year? And now we are in it for about 5 or 6 others it seems.

We already have Blanc commited and he will be playing S. There is a chance that King could be switched to S. We are still recruiting Diggs, and McNeil at S. Still recruiting Redomond and Lawry and a few others at CB. There are also rumors that the staff will want to switch one, if not both, of Bowles and Redding to DB. Very puzzling to me why the staff is still heavily recruiting so many DBs considering UT's' need for DL and LB. It may say something about what kind of defense DC Wilcox is wanting to run at UT.

Yeah he very well could stay at DE, but I don't think so. He didn't look to athletic in his film. He was athletic for his size, but I don't see him playing DE in the SEC.

King is a LB, especially since we passed on Lewis.

The switching of a receiver to the secondary is what screws up the numbers for me. If they do that I can't see them taking McNeil AND Diggs, if we go so lucky. And they especially couldn't take Lawry.

So out of all these prospects, which 5 do we need the most and have the best chance with? I’m writing an article on it.

Danny O'Brien, Cord Patterson, Jason Croom

From there is gets tougher. I would say Santos and Damien Jacobs, a JUCO DT.

Obviously, just a guess and somewhat of a total pipe dream, but what does everyone think? I see us stocking up on DE,DT, LB, WR, and DB. Peterman is probably it for this year at QB. Cross may leave, and surely somebody would replace him, probably another power runner. But not sure. I do think we get Humphries, and Autry, and MAYBE Collins, though a long shot.

Thoughts?

We took 6 db's last year....do we really need 6 more this year? Seems like a lot
