A few days ago, there was some discussion about Bruce's appearance on "Under the Lights."

Well, SportsSouth has now produced another set of shows called "Head Coach", and Pearl is one of the coaches profiled.

I watched the first airing yesterday, and loved it. It's a great, hour-long piece on Pearl, his family, and UT athletics.

Here are the reairing times for those who want to record it:

Tuesday March 20 2PM EST
Wednesday March 21 7PM EST

On my Comcast Cable in Atlanta, it's on Channel 53.

For any who don't know, SportSouth is the channel that formerly was Turner South. Fox bought the channel from Turner last year. :good!:

Could someone give me a quick rundown of the show...I'm sitting in sunny iraq and we don't have much in the way of TV...thanks

Cool. One of many examples of how an extra week in the tourney buys you a lot more attention. Bet viewers of shows like this will go way up now that we're one of the final 16 teams.

I saw him last night on ESPNews. I have to say he is one of the best interviewees I've seen. Not that I'd want to see this happen but he'd be a great play by play guy or commentator. Great TV personality.

Anyone in the Raleigh/Durham area know where to find this? I looked during the times listed above and could only find shows about Coach K.

Just a reminder. The series "Head Coach", featuring our own head basketball coach, airs tonight at 7pm eastern on SportSouth...[same channel as Under The Lights was on]..

Basically it is a "get to know" piece on Pearl. The show deals with his philosophies of life and his history. There is nothing in it about how he coaches or his coaching methods. The show deals with his personal history and his family.

They interview Pearl, his wife, Tony Jones, and Hamilton extensively during the 60-minute program.

Some people will call it a "puff piece" I am sure, but I thought it was the best show I've seen to attempt to get into what makes him tick, his attitudes about life in general, his life and coaching goals, etc.

I thought it was well done and definitely worth watching.

After viewing the program, I would want my son to play for Pearl. He came across with humility, great energy, and as a fantastic family man.

No way could this program do anything but greatly help in recruiting.

It looks like Pearl's show has been given all of Tubby's airtimes. I guess they scrapped the Tubby episode after he left UK. The Pearl episode will continue to air for another week. Head Coach
