Another Government Shutdown Thread

"So if those senators think that we’re having a shutdown because of me, they’re free to enter my office and negotiate, because what we’re not going to do is allow all of millions of people in this country to not be able to afford their insulin and chemotherapy. So come stick a deal with me.”

WTF is she talking about? What exactly does she have to negotiate with? Her chamber passed a CR correct?
What's the deal? I will or won't primary Chuck?

P.S. Nice touch on the children are die tripe.

"Later, after Jeffries mentioned prior shutdowns, host Abby Phillip said, “The difference, though, Leader Jeffries, between those incidents and this one, is that Democrats, in those times, were the ones saying, let’s just fund the government, let’s not negotiate in this moment. Now the shoe is on the other foot. You acknowledge that, right?”

Jeffries responded, “No, actually, we’re saying, let’s fund the government, let’s sit down and have a conversation. Republicans have adopted a my way or the highway approach."

Nobody is buying your 🐂💩.

Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., announced Tuesday that he has reintroduced a proposal for a constitutional amendment to dock federal lawmakers' pay when there is a government shutdown.

"During shutdowns, federal workers are told to ‘do more with less.’ Meanwhile, Congress still cashes paychecks. That’s wrong." Norman noted in a post on X. "I’ve reintroduced an Amendment to end Member pay during shutdowns. Zero. No back pay either!!"

Yes please.

Here we go again. Democrats can't be bullied & they're gonna be out there FIGHTING on TV. Chucky doesn't know what he wants to fight so hard for but to keep fighting hard for the "illegals" and the criminals that roam the streets of the United States.

Republicans need no Democrat votes to end the shutdown. They have a majority in both houses and the President. To end the shutdown, they need only to have all Republicans vote on a continuing resolution that they agree on.

Right now there are two possibilities:

1. Republicans can't agree with each other on what should be in the CR
2. Republicans can agree on what should be in the CR, but some Republicans can't win a campaign with that vote on their record, so they need somebody else to bear it

They need 60 votes in the Senate to prevent a filibuster.
