Another 6-6 year in 2015 is possible, but have patience

Trolling , trolling, trolling... Can't keep doing 500 or right at it. At some point you run out of excuses for it.

My plant has a piece of equipment that is critical to our operation. In a month it produces a half million or so in revenue. The main operator has 20 years of experience and is very efficient and reliable. If I've had a year or more (and I have) to assure I have a good back up for him whose fault is it if he goes on medical leave for 6 months and we can't get the job done?

I'm the manager. It is my responsibility and mine alone. And while I might be able to come up with a million reasons/excuses for why I didn't get the job done... not having a back up ready won't be one that's accepted.

are you going into your third year in that responsibility? Did you have to rebuild that staff? Did the previous manager leave you a mess to "fix"?

How many hires or replacements did you make in the first 2 years to fix the problems?

Does your staff turnover at a rate of 15-25% per year for you to bring in new hires?

IMO, not the same comparison at all. But just my opinion.

If we only win 6 games next year then Butch doesn't get it. Period.

My expectations for next year are high. No matter what anyone predicted before the season, this team showed that they were capable of winning 8 or even 9 games this season.

They didn't, and they lost close games. Maybe we blame that on youth.

There is no doubt that next year the team should be better top to bottom and to finish 6-6 again would be regression

Got to be at some point right? I mean seems like we've heard a lot of these same talking points, excuses whatever you want to call it for what seems like about 6 years now. The moral victories suck, the depth, the talent, we're young. We've heard them all add nausea..

I don't expect the world next year but 8 wins should be at the very minimum the expectation..

That's what I'm saying. The situations are different, and people are gonna think I'm being a hater, but if we assume UT wins on Sarurday then Dooley and Butch will have the same record up to this point in their UT careers. 11 wins in 2 years.

Year 3 is important. Improvement doesn't need to be shown IMO. Significant improvement does.

True, but I think we hit bottom somewhere in between Dooley's hire and this year. Now, trending back up.

I don't think you can measure improvement by setting a minimum number of wins. With improvement comes wins, but setting a minimum number of wins depends a lot on schedule, injuries, luck, etc. I can tell you that the eye test is much more pleasing now than it was last year or the year before. I see a team that never quits. I see a lot of young talent that will develop into studs. If we had played Florida State's schedule this year, would you feel differently about this team? likely. And, no, I am not saying we would have Florida State's record, just a few more wins.

I'm looking at the schedule thinking we win UAB, WC, NT, UK, Vandy and those are all must wins absolutely no excuse for a loss.

That's 5, Arkansas is coming around, but they aren't equiped to clim to the top of the mountain just yet, I think we beat Florida to propel us into a string where we also beat Arkansas and UGA I also think we beat Mizzou. And 9 wins and the East should be ours next year. SC is due to beat us and we will still be realativly young and thin in some spots.

I do wonder though if OU and Bama are strong, Arky is ahead of the curve, UGA and or Mizzou could still be strong and if we only win 7 will most be disappointed or since it's two another year with another win and bowl and we win the ones we are suppose to and end the florida streak I will be happy and be looking to 2016 as the year we have to play in the SEC championship... I'll be happy with 7 wins, I can easily see 10 if we grow up and sure up the line a bit and have another top recruiting class, but I'm predicting 8-4 or 9-3 and an east championship.

I'll be honest though, I just want to beat the teams we are suppose to. I think there's 5 there, and I want to beat Florida and Mizzou and Id love to beat Arky to shut up the talking heads and the west folks about how they're ahead of us just like we had to do for UK.

If we do what we should be capable of next year and win 10 and the East 2016 will be a very fun season.

Why should we beat Missouri?? We are 0-3 versus them since they have come into the SEC. The last two years they have controlled the east and have a good chance to be in SECCG for second year in a row.

They are just a better program right now than Tennessee is. Not sure why we should have an expectation to beat them?? I had that expectation after our Kentucky game. Thought we would win but frankly, they manhandled us. Not sure why we would expect next year to be different in Columbia?

Mainly I am tired of losing to them as a fan. But I also believe our guys on the O line getting experience under their belt and having all summer and spring to study the position and areas for imporvement and to lift and condition and mature a year that is where we gain on them. I also think with recruiting adding a guy who could start or at least step up for rotation to keep guys fresh will help adding depth. And we are adding a couple of studs to our D line and return our best pass rushers, 2 of 3 Lbs and our best corner so D should play well again and even be a little stronger with the same said above for O lines improvements.

It really all comes to us being super young and thin. A year to recruit for depth and speed, a year for all these freshman to mature and to get Smith and North and Crowder and some of our starters healed up will do wonders.

Mizzou has a very good base and program established but they are at their peak which is winning the east and going to the sec champ game. They don't get the studs needed to go beyond that point or to really even compete for the sec champ. UT has been down and is now young and thin, florida is going through coaching change, UGA has fought injuries and NCAA the last couple of years. Next year I think they stay the same that they have been for the last couple, but we take a step forward and that's why I think we win.

I've called for six wins the past couple of years and hopefully that is finally achieved this year.
Next season will be time to step it up with eight wins.
The only acceptable excuses to not reach this goal will be catastrophic injuries to multiple key players or losing key players due to off field issues.

And, did you have 4 competitors constantly rushing against your main operator, throwing him to the ground 6times last Saturday every time he tried to do something good, and about 30 times prior to that? Sarcasm.

And, it's 22 operators + Special teams, not 1 operator + 1 equipment.

I wish I knew how to have fixed the OL problems with what we knew we had starting Dec '013 through prior to Fall camp '014, and I wish I could get the dropped passes back this past weekend (and I'm glad Mizz dropped a few early passes too, or the score could have been worse), but I'll continue to be patient and trust for a W this weekend !

Go Vols!

Vol Nation expects to beat Missouri because most fans are unrealistic, in denial, and look at the world through extremely orange tinted glasses.

if we go 6-6 or even 7-6 with a bowl win in 2015 you must fire someone the oline coach at least.
