"You know, we don't need the university as much as they need us — as much as they need him and his connections and reputation and everything," Ann Bowden told USA Today. "If they want to pull that trick (and force Bobby to retire), we'll just shake the dirt off our feet and go to Europe or go on a long cruise or something.

"They'll have to fire him for him not to go another year … If they've got guts enough to do it, let them do it."

sounds fulmeresque. she overestimates her husbands influence. if the new coach comes in and wins everyone will be kissing his ass too.

It's becoming clear why Bobby wants to coach a little while longer.

Exactly. Hell, he might just mosey on down to a Supercenter and start greeting folks with shopping carts. Anything but extended hours with that garbage.

It's pretty sad when you preach to your players team before self, then show them the exact opposite by your actions. Bowden built FSU into a dynasty, but now he is running them into the ground because he is more concerned with keeping pace with Paterno than he is with what is best for the program.

I appreciate that she is loyal to him to the bitter end, and that she feels protective of him. But that's so the wrong way to stand up for her man.

She sounds as disgruntled as Vicki Fulmer. The best thing for FSU is to get rid of Bowden today. Won't happen but it would be the best move for their program.

That ol' battle axe is crazy as hell. I'd be pissed if my wife was off runnin' her mouth about my employment situation like that. Bobby ought to take that snot rag of his and hold it over her nose and mouth for about 3 minutes.

It may simply be a case of a wife, whom for what ever reasons whats her husband home and that dang cruise. She sees her opportunity and takes it....A wife with a different agenda. Go figure.

If I'm FSU, I notify Bobby that he's gettin the hammer, but I'd tell him through her.

I'd give him the option to stay if he banished her from Tallahassee.

Keep the old, senile bowden around, pay him more millions for his "connections and reputation?" This old hag has lost it. fsu needs to dump their whole family and bring in new coaches.

Check out this bumbling speech by ann bowden at the espn awards show. She was supposed to get 45 seconds but went way beyond that.
