titans trade cj to bengals for their first round pick...

With the Titans awful team, and the Bengals atrocity we are guaranteed luck.

He is a much bigger risk taker than Manning. You never will see Peyton try to run thru someone. That would be my only concern about Luck, and I'm sure his NFL coach will limit it. Wish the Titans were going to be in the Luck sweepstakes.

I think it's more of a comparison of character. Both are leaders, stayed for four years in college, and are excellent QB's.

Not only can manning not handle taking those risks of running the ball, he generally doesn't have to take the risk.

No matter if the Titans have the first pick in the draft they will not be selecting a QB in the first round

Yeah, outside of madden, that trade wouldn't happen (or likely work)

Does anyone know what kind of D's luck went against? I usually think that pac 12 teams don't have great D. I think oregon was a decent D, but I'm not so sure on the others.

He torched VT's D in the Orange Bowl this past season.

Stanford torched everyone last year. They made every D look bad.

And I agree, I'd say luck is more like Elway or Steve Young. He's more mobile than Peyton and throws more on the run.

great another carolina situation where we draft a QB early then take one with the first overall pick the next year

I don't see it. More like Elway. Luck is physical and mobile. Peyton, not so much.

But Peyton is also much smarter and more accurate. Why can't Luck possess the same passing skills/intelligence as Petyon while being as mobile as Elway?

FWIW, I'd never compare any rookie to proven all time greats. Just questioning why he has to be compared to Elway in your opinion.

Luck's mobility may be more comparable to Elway but that doesn't mean his passing abilities have to be also.

Manning 64.9% 399td 198int
Elway 56.9% 300td 226int

Again, I'm not willing to predict how successful Luck will be let alone compare him to Manning or Elway. Your assertion that he is more like Elway just because he is more mobile doesn't add up. The guys comparing him to Manning could be referring to passing ability. Just because he is mobile doesn't mean he can't pass like Manning. I doubt he will because passing like Manning is rare but it seems as though you're just going by physical comparison.

Yeah, I didn't really go check their sch. VT usually does have a real good D. I think VT had a serious down year last year as well.

No not really. They just lost to Boise early and the shock of it (/their NC hopes ending so early) leaked over into their next game, but they went on to win 11 games, beating 3 more ranked teams scoring anywhere from 30 to 40 points each of those games, winning their conference and making it to a BCS bowl

I'd say more elway; I get the feeling Steve young comparison needs to be a little bit faster as well

ACC isn't stellar

It's still 11 wins, a conference championship & BCS bowl bid, and beating ranked teams

That's a good year by any school

I'm not saying Luck didn't go against a great D and successful team. However, I just have a bitter feeling towards VT, and I don't take the acc serious.
