Dwight Howard isn't exactly fitting in offensively in LA (is it his back?), but I still don't understand why people say Bynum is the better offensive player. I heard an LA sports radio guy going off about it yesterday. It doesn't make any sense.
Bynum's best scoring season was:
18.7 ppg and .594 TS%
Howard's had 3 seasons that completely trump those two figures. What is this infatuation with "scoring versatility". Why isn't it just about scoring efficiency and frequency?
Say you're a coach. If you're setting your roster for tonight's game would you rather have a center who will go 10/16, all dunks, or a center who will go 8/16, and score in a variety of ways?
It seems like a no-brainer to me, but when evaluating talent this is not how the basketball establishment thinks.
