Some on here should go listen to what Peyton told the team ... block out the noise, they don't know what you (the team) are capable of, only you (the team) know that.
There are just as many over hyped teams that fall below the hype as there are under hyped teams that exceed the hype.
Look, all reporting has an agenda. It's called the information age. We went through it. Everyone has access to the same information. People have to learn how to sift through the information being thrown at them 24/7 and process what they are reading and hearing. If you cannot critically process the information for yourself, you get sold things. Lets not turn this into a political thread. All sides have extremes. All arguments have multiple sides. I, for one, am sick to death of all the self importance. The only time we have any say in things at all is when we go to the polls, but if people don't vote they have no say.
Now, to the point of using years past as a reference, I think if we do that we are conditioning ourselves for failure. The past is a learning experience that you should be learning from...and then moving on. I keep saying this, but you have to stop looking in the mirror, there is no one there but ghosts. What's important is how you handle what's in front of you. We have a deep and talented team with great coaches. Things are different this year, we will look different, and why do you think Butch is keeping things under wraps? He can do something this year. There is multiyear talent all over this field (despite what people say) sprinkled with a healthy dose of new talent. These guys are extremely close. I don't see how things could be as terrible as some make it out to be, it doesn't make sense.
well, its a facebook video, so unless I can figure out how to post that, or if it's posted on twitter maybe....

People might not care but he is correct. Most people were all over the media coverage the last two years and no cant stand any hint of negative news as if everyone "hates us." The past two years we were the media darling. Noone "hates" us, its just universally accepted that we are probably not going to be that good and vols fans have a difficult time accepting that.
Thats why fan is short for fanatic.
When outsiders see how hyped we were last year and then utterly fail in the second half of the season, this is exactly what happens. No one should be surprised at all.
As for the article, the writer lost all credibility when he said the QB would not be as accurate. That is NOT fact based at all. There is nothing to base that fact on.
This is well said. We should expect that this team and coaches have evaluated the past and taken from that the strengths they need to continue and, the weaknesses they need to address. That is ALL that one should take from the past - whether the past is last year or the game played last week.
We have a team that has been working their butts off to get stronger, faster and smarter. Some of you can't get past 2016 to even notice that. Open your eyes!
And we shocked them and proved them wrong. They talked smack the whole time.
Reading the article from Vegas Synergy predicting the 2017 Vols makes me wonder if Vegas is any better than the rest of the bloggers out there at doing its homework.
The article is linked on the front page of VN, but here is the link.

Seriously? QD or JG won't be as accurate as Dobbs? Based on what exactly?
