And the starting QB is...

Pruitt: “Jarrett (Guarantano) is our quarterback. He gives us the best opportunity to have success. When you have 1st-and-20, it's hard to make first downs. When you have 2nd-and-15, it's hard to get first downs. We didn't protect very well. Didn't play fast on the perimeter. Offensively our struggles on Saturday were not because of one person.”

From today’s presser.

Having posted this, I still would get the other QBs in the game. Sometimes people don't practice exceptionally well but are lights out when they get in live action.

Trash. He’s been saying the same thing for three years. If true, then it’s his failure to recruit and develop players.

I’m trying to give Pruitt the benefit of doubt because I think JG’s lack of ability really is what’s holding this program back.

But if Pruitt wants to argue otherwise, so be it. It’s on him then.

They need to shut their filthy mouth. He's OUR Loser! I forbid the to talk about our Quarterback like that. Only we, the die hard fans of UT football, can speak of him using such words and tenor!
Hell yeah......preach on brother man and take joy in knowing that our man plans to delight us die hard fans with yet another year of his exceptional, heralded, QB play !

No doubt, and as long as he practices well, he'll start, and we'll continue on with the tradition of not actually trying to develop SEC-ready quarterbacks.

If I'm Kaidon Salter, there's no way I'd come and waste my college career being coached by this staff, not with the way they are currently handling the QB room.

This is another FU Tennessee from Pruitt. Maybe he’d like to leave and still collect his millions. I hope the new Head Coach Search is underway. Pruitt is killing team and fan morale.

Who did you people think was going to do better than JG on Saturday? If any of you seriously think HB was going to do well with no offseason against a generational defense then I have an ocean front property in Nevada to sell you.

Would’ve been nice to judge that for ourselves. With the game well out of hand, I don’t think that any of our QBs sitting on the bench would’ve done any worse at that point. Almost like Pruitt doesn’t want us to see any quarterback play better than JG, that would make his decision to keep playing him look like a questionable decision.

I’m not sure we can afford that. You give the starting job to BM today and next year you lose KS and HB.
If they don’t feel like having competition, then they shouldn’t be going to any power 5 school. Once you get on campus, nobody cares about your high school rating, you gotta perform if you wanna play

I'm not sure what to believe anymore. If JG is indeed the best option at this point you MUST fire your qb coach immediately because development is obviously an issue. Either the staff isn't getting it done or Pruitt is preventing them from getting it done....... Something has to give.
If it were me, I'd give the QB coaching job to Tee. We've not seen improvement under Weinke, and Tee has done well with the WR's and is a good recruiter.

To judge a QB coach based off of JG’s performance is out of line.

The next time JG takes the field it should be after all the other QBs on the team have performed poorly. Give all the other ones a shot at taking the starting job. If they all fail then send JG back out there.

Cease fire lol. I'm not calling for Weinke's head right now. I was replying to KB's post as if it were true. In any case, you don't know any better than me or anyone else in this forum.

I am usually afraid to ask questions on here because some of y'all are seriously in the know about football and I am not. I am just a fan who loves my team. But I seriously wonder why the backup QBs, if they feel they are better and really want to play, don't just transfer? Maybe they know something we don't? And the parents of the backup QBs- do THEY get mad because their sons never see the field? I already said I know nothing about football so please don't bash me.
