I fundamentally agree, and don't buy gear that is coach oriented instead of UT oriented. However, the school/athletics is going to sell what will sell. Just don't buy it.

Florida has won 34 games the last 5 seasons. Tennessee has won 35 games the last 5 seasons. LSU hasn't competed for their division since 2011, and their best bowl win in the last 5 years is the Outback.

"Relevant" has little to do with what happens on the field. Notre Dame hasn't won a title since the 80s. They're relevant. Georgia hasn't won a title since the 80s, they're relevant.

Tennessee will always be relevant because it's a proven program with financial backing, history, and infrastructure that only 5-10 other programs can match. On field success will come and go, just as it does with every other program.

Anyway, troll on.

Yes, it is, we just saw that the last 5 years with Sgt Carter. Any fan should always, ALWAYS remember why they’re a fan. Pull for the coach, support the coach, but never put the coach ahead of the program like so many on VolNation did the last 5 years with Lyle. That’s no bueno.

It's not only Butch......just look back at how the fans have put each coach beginning with Majors [maybe even coaches before Majors] above the program. Whether you like it or not, the vast majority of both fans and recruits puts the coach ahead of the program and university.......I know I do.

I went to T Town back in the day and there was a Phil T Shirt for sale on every corner around campus. Man it was brutal for a period of time. I remember in the 80s when T's were made the night before and sold with the paint almost wet the next day on Cumberland. With all the crappy licensing laws....good ol daze gone....Some original stuff designed!

Just point out that if you are using Alabama to prove the point that Championship teams dont worship their coach you are wrong. The have shirts, stickers, tags, flags, hats, scarves, dog poop bags, belts, cups, plates, etc with Saban on them.

And not to mention that ghastly houndstooth pattern all over the place.
