Geez, can't believe Florida

Looks like we are Alabama toughest game, or maybe OU.

Auburn could still make a run and save Hughies job

Dawgs could lose 2 more

LSU could be in trouble, rumors qb troubles with Nessbaum

OU better get Mateer well soon

If Ole Miss beats UGA they could run the table

Baby Beamer could be in trouble at USC with that schedule, he might take Va Tech job

Vols 10-2 possible, 9-3 probable

Texas probably has best talent but brutal schedule (OU, UGA and A&M)

A&M better keep an eye on, but 2 toughest games, Texas and LSU on the road

Vandy- Alabama, Texas, LSU and Vols coming up, uh-oh.

I think TAMU and UT have the easiest path moving forward. Nothing is easy in the SEC. But we have a very hard road game at Bama and another road game that doesn't look that bad right now with UF. TAMU hard games are LSU and TE. To be honest, I have no idea what to make of Mizz this year.

I was actually going to start a thread today suggesting USCjr might be the the key to the SEC after hearing Austin Price bring them up. Look at this insane stretch. He (and I) think they'll upset a team or 2. Beamer may be in trouble but this is a team that isnt going to compete for a playoff spot, barring a miracle, but is capable of ruining someone else's chances of making it. Tenn should be big USCjr fans for a bit

Just looking at the most important for us:

Tennessee: 10-2 is on the table. We will need to continue playing at a high level on offense and get better on defense, but there is an opportunity for us. Arkansas is going to be a weird one with the coaching change and lack of defense. Then we have @bama, OU, and @Florida being our toughest match ups in that order. This is the perfect year to break the loss in the Swamp streak. UK is a dumpster this year.

Alabama: sneaky hard schedule. I think they could go undefeated, or have 3 more losses. Ty seems to be firing on all cylinders in the passing game, but have no running game and a beatable defense. Vandy is whatever, and they probably win that. Then they have @Mizz, who is "hot" off of some sleep walking type games, but DeBoer has a losing record on the road. I think they win there too, but as we all know, winning on the road in the SEC is hard. After that, we get a chance at them. I doubt we win but I think we have the dudes to do it. I give us a conservative 40% chance at winning. SCAR and LSU kinda stink this year, and I doubt they win. From there, OU comes to town. If Mateer is anywhere back to 100%, then I think OU might be in a better position to beat them then we are. OU has a very good defense, and I could see this becoming a nightmare for Bama as Brent V can make QBs stumble. OU can make this a one dimensional game. Finally Auburn...who could also win on a good defense and home field advantage.

Florida: not looking at every game, but they face murderers row the rest of the year. The only bright spot for us is that they are just that bad on offense. Is this the year we can break the Swamp curse?

Swamp curse lifted, win at Bama, beat UGA, beat uga in athens, and win SEC title are the last 5 remaining things on Heupel's SEC Bingo card. I hope 2 or 3 happen this year.

SEC Opponents with SEC games Vols bye week. What helps us?

UK @ UGA -20.5
TX @ UF +6.5
VU @ UA -11.5 ESPN GameDay. Darn big stage for Candy.
MSU @ TAMU -13.5

Vandy is probably better than Florida and possibly OU.

Well Vandy got screwed 😁 They better enjoy life with Pavia because it's gonna get ugly again, starting next season😂.....

Something to keep in mind on Vandy, they no longer suffer with academic restrictions as it relates to transfers. It's not like high school recruiting. They can take these portal guys...and if they have money... well you get the idea.

I think we lose two more, To Bama and either OU or Florida, 9-3 sounds about right for this team
I'm hopeful the bye week allows the team to significantly reduce the number of self-inflicted mistakes. If the roster stays healthy, that is the biggest challenge remaining. Wins at Alabama & Florida won't happen if the Vols don't play near their highest potential. Oklahoma at home could be another Georgia-like finish. Vandy will provide their biggest challenge in Neyland that they have in a long time. Arkansas and Kentucky look to be the easiest conference games. Four more losses is not out of the question.

One game at a time though. The Vols need to look like a much more complete high-performing team against Arkansas.

We’re not going 7-5.
