Analytics Expert pick UT to win BIG

I hope this ain't the same analytics dude that Butch subscribes to.

Good point. Hopefully this ain't the guy that gave Butch his eff'd up chart.

Bottom line, I don't care who predicts it, how they predict it, why they predict it, just please win the game Tennessee. Finally and once and for all, just win the game.

We are finally getting our All American lineman back in Chance Hall. If the line looks no better, then we will lose this game and several more following it.

If we can open up run routes and hit a deep ball or two, we can win this.

I said that their competition has been lacking, but they have handled their lesser competition, better than we have handled our lesser competition.

As someone posted previously our lesser competition was ranked higher than the gators lesser competition.

Not being a di** here but don't act like UF's Oline is any better. Last I recall they were pretty bad as well

Gator posted nothing about UF's Oanything. His point was doubting our QB/Oline vs. the Gator D and I think he has very good reasons. That's going to be the dogfight that we must win to prevail....

While you are right, the shade was thrown that the difference in the game would be their superb Dline vs. our inept Oline. I simply countered that their Oline was just as bad (while alluding that our Dline is pretty damn good as well).

If that's the case, then Josh Dobbs >>>> Austin Appleby, which would be the equalizer IMO

I said earlier this week that if the game were played 5 times, you'd win 4 of them. I still think you likely win it, but I admit I'm starting to have my doubts that Dobbs and your oline can hold up versus the Gator D.

I just wanted to stop and say it's nice to see a fan of another team, especially one of our biggest rivals, who comes in here, doesn't really trash talk(from what I've seen) and is overall a very reasonable person.

As far as our o-line goes, I hope chance hall can help provide some cohesion. Otherwise, it's going to be a long day for both teams on offense

I'd take the Vols giving 6 1/2 pts. But an 18 pt. game that may be stretching it some. We may not even score 18 points the whole game. But it goes to show about what many experts think of the kind of points the "talented" Gator offense will score without Del Rio and likely Calloway.

Ran across this on my Facebook feed. Interesting to say the least. They give us an 89% likelihood of winning and the final score as 30-12

Analytics expert projects Week 4 outcomes for eight SEC matchups

By the way, they are almost 80% correct on the year for all game predictions

BCF Toys - 2016 Game Projections

One week, pick every single game. You'd be surprised how many easy ones there are. Taking points? All together different. But picking the winner. You'll get more than 80 percent.

All that said, Tennessee wins this week.

Like everyone else, I've been shocked and disappointed with our OL. This game will be decided in the tranches and it will be ugly no doubt. I will remain cautiously optimistic until the end of the 4th. I enjoy contemplating all the "what-ifs" as much the next guy but the anticipation leading up to this battle has my heart rhythm way out of whack! I'm amped and crazy excited for this match up! Let's do this! Is it Saturday yet? #GBO #ChasingGatorTail

Alright I want two things to happen.

1: quit handing these guys games before they step on the field.

2: quit trashing the team and coaches before their biggest tests.

I want us to go in there with our mouths closed and come out with our heads high. Then go back to your frat houses or where ever you go and butt chug the night away in the privacy of your own home. All we are doing here is what we are supposed to do. Our jobs. We have to stop falling into these traps, it's time to change the game.

Very premature. You need to read more.

I don't trust that thing but even if I did, it doesn't take injuries into account. There's no way for it to know that Kirkland and Sutton are out and the impact that makes.

As with any statistical inference, there are always outliers that skew the results.

Whether you are unimpressed or not, you can't deny the fact that they guy is 80% correct on the year. If he is using these numbers in Vegas, then they guy is undoubtedly making money, so yeah, he should quit his day job.

80% is a lot easier to get than you would think due in large part to the talent disparity in college football. Find me a system that acuratly predicts 80% of NFL games and then you have something impressive.

"Analytics" told Butch Jones to kick a FG last year instead of go for 2. I would like to punch an Analytics expert in the face.

I work in analytics and can tell you Butch uses the data all wrong. Analytics should force you to look at other options you didn't consider before you make a decision. Analytics should never make the decision for you. If analytics say "teams that throw 3 ints lose 87% of the time" are you going to completely stop passing the ball after your QB throws 2 ints? No, you're going to tell your QB to stop throwing into triple coverage

This is 2016..... evolved people don't use gay slurs anymore.

Of course not. "Evolved" people suppress the free speech and religious rights of those who disagree with them in the name of "tolerance" for differing points of view and lifestyles.... all while whining about how terrible gay slurs are.
