I bet that Charlie B., early playing time and a qb like bray and playing in the SEC are what persuaded him to come here.

I'm pretty excited about next year.....Hunter, D. Rogers and Arnett.....Bray is one lucky QB

I'm thinking the receivers are even luckier to have Bray throwing to them. He'll rack up their stats and I think he'd do the same for just about any core of receivers. Having guys of Hunter, Rogers, and Arnett's caliber only adds to the talent that is Bray... Not to mention Milton, Z. Rogers, and V. Dallas. The future for football in Knoxville is brighter than the orange on our jerseys!

I'm excited about the potential and talent of these receiver's as well. But right now IMO they aren't what we had last year. Next year, at least at the beginning of the year, I think Bray will struggle to get comfortable with the new receivers. I know Hunter got some good PT, but besides that nobody really did. Da'Rick also did, but not a whole lot.

G.Jones, D.Moore, J.Hunter, L.Stocker > J.Hunter, D.Rogers, D.Arnett, M.Rivera.

The receivers we have next year I think are way more talented than what we had last year and all have the potential to be great players. But none of them have the SEC experience yet like the veterans we had last year (Jones, Moore, Stocker). Those senior's leadership and underated blocking skills will be missed next year. I hope by the end of next year or at least by the 2012 season that Da'Rick Rogers can replace G.Jones ability to run the great routes and be the go to 3rd down guy for us, and that D.Arnett can replace D.Moore as our down the field threat. If they all can develop quickly as Justin Hunter did this year than we will be in great shape at WR as you all have expressed. V.B. :loco:

Excellent, and too often overlooked, point.

I actually agree. There will be some bumps along the way, and I'm afraid the fans will be screaming for Worley as soon as Bray has a bad game. We do still need to be patient. That being said, if we don't have a great offense in 2012, the coaches are failing, in my opinion.

G Jones did not do much this year. I'm sorry. Moore is a loss. Arnett will fill G jones spot easily and honestly make that position stronger. I believe Hunter will step it up and be bette than Moore.

GJ was hurt for a few games but the difference in 3rd down conversion when he returned was huge. Not flashy but he was a very reliable target for a young QB in those situations. Probably putting too much on a true frosh to make those catches

I gotta be honest and say what I've seen from Arnett so far makes me think he comes in day one and pushes to be the number one WR. I think he should be a 5 star. Not a 5 star due to him being able to leap over people. A 5 star due to game knowledge. He's running some amazing routes. I'll know more after the game tomorrow.

Yeah, this. You KNOW he's gonna throw it at 'em all day...and if they've been watching they know it, too. Just go and get it, men.

I think Rivera is developing into a sure target as a TE. I remember TE Jeff Smith keeping us in some games way back in '85 with short 1st down catches (and the occasional TD) all year that year.

No I'm sorry. He did a lot this year. He lead us in catches with 55 while missing three games, and also was 2nd in receiving yards and 3rd in TD's. And they probably don't have this statistic, but I can guarantee that he probably had twice as many 1st down conversion catches as the next in that category. He was huge on 3rd down when he came back from injury. Nobody on our roster now or next year knows how to find the holes in the secondary like he did. I doubt Arnett will immediately step in and lead this team in catches. I've been wrong before, but I highly doubt it this time.

It's not all about stats, but he only caught 10 balls all year and was kept out of the end zone. Not saying he won't have a good year, but he is no Stocker. And if we somehow snag a Jay Rome in the recruiting class then Rivera can go ahead and pencil himself in for only 2TE sets and special teams. That being said I hope he has a great year, I just don't see the development you are seeing.

Look at our offense on third downs without Jones compared to with. He's not a big play guy but he's a chain mover.

you'll know more after a HS game? It means very little to what he will accomplish in SEC football. Didn't Ambles tear it up last year and end the season with single-digit receptions?

Arnett looks very promising but if we lost 2 contributors and have one coming in, we still need a bit more. Am hoping we will still land a blue-chip TE, though its hard to ask for stardom at that position as a true freshman. Any JUCO TEs available?
