A historic matchup, as both schools do consider each other as rivals, historically, despite much lessened matchups between the two.
Tulane considers Ole Miss it’s second oldest rival, historically (the first matchup of “The Battle for the Rag” rivalry with LSU was literally the week before the first matchup against Ole Miss),
In turn, it’s also Ole Miss’s oldest rivalry, historically, predating the Rebels’ rivalries with Alabama, LSU, and Vanderbilt by a year).
First meeting in 1893, the two have played 73 total times, including annual matchups from 1950-1965 and 1978-1992. Since then, the two have try to play each other at least 2-3 times a decade.
Ole Miss won the last matchup in 2023 as well as the last 13 matchups. The Rebels lead the series 44-29.
