Josh Dobbs and Blake Sims seem very similar to each other imo. Both are decent but not prolific passers, and have the ability to effectively keep defenses honest by scrambling and creating plays with their legs. Sims has more playmakers around him who are more experienced, and his decision making may be a little better than Dobbs at this point. Other than that I feel like they are very similar players and they can both be successful in their offensive schemes. What say you VN?

worries me how unprepared our defense looked at times on stopping and containing simms and the horrible angles we took to tackle him--- he ran for 3-4 first downs when a UT player had him in his sights to tackle, but took a horrible angle and simms ran right around him.... coaching

Or it was just he's a really good athlete. He made a play every mistake isn't a coaching issue.

Amen. There clowns are so quick to blame everything on coaching. I mean Sims is a great player who was making great plays. All these coaches on here need to start applying for jobs since they know everything.

Are you a defensive coordinator? If so, where?

Is Saban to blame for all the tackles Dobbs slipped by/through? Dobbs is really athletic and looked awesome running the ball. He needs to work on his accuracy some, but to me he's as good of a runner as any QB in the SEC.
It's strange he hasn't played yet. Just look at Nick Marshall at Auburn. He's far from a great passer and makes plenty of mistakes, but the offense they run makes it work. Having Dobbs back there adds twice as much variety to our offense. I say play him, let him get some games in before next year.

Clearly JD has the potential to develop into an effective QB, if he becomes a consistent passer he'll be difficult to game plan for.
