From Google....
Todd Watson is in his his third season at Tennessee under Pruitt, serving as Director of Football Programming. Pruitt and Watson worked together at Hoover High School in 2004 under head coach Rush Propst. Watson served as defensive coordinator, while Pruitt was defensive backs coach for Propst.

"Watson was one of the most successful high school coaches in Alabama before joining Neal Brown’s staff at Troy. Watson compiled an 80-36 record in 10 seasons as the head coach of Foley High School, where he coached Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones and other future NFL players such as Robert Lester and D.J. Fluker.

Watson proceeded Pruitt as defensive coordinator at Alabama prep powerhouse Hoover High School from 2000-04, helping the Buccaneers to a 70-4 record and four Alabama 6A state titles. He also spent time as an assistant coach at Bryant High School and Alba High School." As stated in his Bio.

Pruitt goes with who he trusts and knows their character as a coach. Watson knows football and defense. Just because it isn't a "splash" hire or a name everyone knows, doesn't mean he can't get the guys to be productive upfront. All he needs to do is let Henry T play with a cow prodder, he get them moving in the right direction.

From here on out we can count on every story about Pruitt or decisions he makes eliciting the expected responses from the expected people.
Yes ...on this site the dye has pretty much been cast for CJP opinions. As Andy Griffith says “people sure are odd”. 😂😂

Come on guys. A coach whose main achievement is being a decent to good high school coach is taking over the defensive line. Can anyone get excited about that?

Per the article that the non working link referenced, pretty much non news. Just hypothetical talk saying he could promote Todd Watson to interim line coach and he could have thought about it. Pruitt has not made any changes, and has not commented on this idea.

Voice of reason in a sea of non-reason.

"An excerpt"? You mean "the entire story", right?
I really have no idea. The link was broken and I Googled it and cut and pasted a blurb directly from the search since I couldn’t get to the actual story.

I'd be a little surprised if a "really good DL coach" was available right now. No good DL coach is going to leave his position in mid-season. This appears to be a "quick-fix" until the end of the regular season at which time he'll name the real one. I'm not a Pruitt defender/hater - just thinking about it logically.
