I don't care what anyone says, if Dooley's doesn't work out, Tennessee Athletics would be stupid not to go after James Franklin. The guys out recruiting SEC schools that have better facilities, more money, and more success. And he's keep his team competitive.

I still hope Dooley works out and ends up bringing championships to Tennessee though. GBO

I'll take on Aston
First off, the guy has only been on the job through only one season and one full recruiting period. It's a little early to declare anyone 'stupid not to go after' after so little has been seen.
In recruiting, the guy is doing better than Vandy typically does, but let's be honest, that doesn't take much.
The #29 recruiting class in 2012 isn't bad compared to historical Vandy numbers. The main difference from prior years are the three in-state 4 star players, one of them seemingly a headcase. I'm not sure three 4-stars is enough to call him a recruiting ace, regardless of what school he's at.
Also, we saw the kinds of kids Kiffin brought to Tennessee with his hotsauce recruiting, is Franklin doing the same? I'm not saying they are going to go rob gas stations in getaway prius's.... but we saw that it tended to attract a different kind of kid. Can the hotsauce recruiting last through a couple more mediocre seasons?
On the field, the guy didn't inherit a mess like Dooley. He actually inherited a pretty decent roster.
Last year more than half of the team were upperclassmen, including Zac Stacy and Jordan Rogers who probably would've started for Tennessee at some point.
This year they only have 3 underclassman starters- no freshmen. He clearly isn't out-recruiting the current roster.
I'm not saying the guy is a complete slouch, but I'd argue his biggest asset to Vandy has simply been an attitude adjustment and some excitement that a new ballcoach brings to the table.
Can we wait until Dooley's actually beats one single good yet? Just one?
1) college football is here!
2) vandy lost
3) james franklin was anchored down by a bunch of cocks
4) ol ball coach recruited frodo baggins and friends for his WRs
5) USCjr looks very beatable
6) Dooley's hair started the day perfect
7) Dooley's hair ended the day perfect
8) less than 24 hours until football time!
He did better than we did with less. Could've possibly beaten a top ten team if it had not been for a bad call. Actually coached pretty well against a good offense. On top of that he's recruiting well to Vanderbilt of all places. You tell me how that's not the mark of a good coach?
And I'm sorry, calling someone a "douche" isn't a good argument for not hiring him.
