Ament’s NIL

Ament not playing like a one and done.
He is not, but that won’t stop him from going in the first round. The NBA is willing to let kids develop while starting in the pros now.

Jabari Smith Jr. (6’ 10” - one season at Auburn) has had two very forgettable seasons for the Rockets, but he’s still a starter and seems to be getting a little better each season.

Chet Holgrem (7’ 0” - one season at Gonzaga) seems to be doing really well with the Thunder. He’s as skinny as Ament, but he was a much better shooter than Ament in college.

Does the basketball team have a S&C coach? We have several players that really need some weight. We are physically outmatched often.
Illinois didn't even have their center playing.

Jabari smith was heads and shoulders above Ament in terms of collegiate production.

Get it back. Danny white is a moron. That NIL could’ve gotten us two better linebackers and a safety and we easily beat Georgia and Oklahoma in football. But white also ran vitello out. The everything school thing is a facade. Basketball team is a joke
So you just joined VolNation and this is a thread starter? You thought this emotionally immature rant reeking of ignorance was the way to go? 🙄

We were not physically outmatched against Illinois. Those were Euro players, and the 4 and 5 could shoot the 3. We outrebounded them by 15, and they average a + rebounding margin. The difference was shooting and turnovers.

Holmgren was great as a freshman and Smith was an All American as a freshman. Those guys were elite college players as skinny freshmen while Ament looks awful.

Not much difference in their first 9 games except for shooting percentage. Smith got better as the season went on.
So shooting better (i.e. more efficient) isn’t a significant statistic? Ament is inefficient as hell vs teams with a pulse. Jabari scored 22, 22 and 23 in their 3 biggest OOC games so far Ament has been a non-factor in the games that have mattered.

The. OP is a troll. Has all of 16 posts. Started out trashing Neyland saying he would never go back. Then trashes Danny White. Then trashes Ament. Doesn’t know how NIL works or anything about athletic department.
Yea, you’re right. Just looked at his past few posts. Block time.

I haven’t given up on him. He will get better and play pro. In their UConn game, Jabari scored 22 going 12 for 12 from the FT line going 4 of 13 from the field. Both teams scored over 100 in OT. The 23 he scored against OU, he was 9 of 10 from the FT line and shot 6 of 14 from the field. He was still a better shooter so far, but he got his at the FT line just like Ament.

They aren't a power team, necesaarily, but their bigs certainly had their way bullying ours in the paint backing them down to the basket. Mirkovich and the older Ivisic had their way with Okpara and Estrella multiple times.

Can we stop with this nonsense narrative that Tony was “run off”?

He got offered the chance of a lifetime and took it. There was nothing we could’ve done.

I won't say the basketball team is a joke, I will say the same thing about this years team as I did last years. OVERRATED

I missed most of the first half, but I don’t recall seeing that much in the second. I thought they flopped a little on defense. But maybe with better positioning in the paint, but I don’t think it was much from physicality. 41 of 75 points from three or FT line, and Boswell had 15 without a three.

The two I mentioned (Mirkovic and T. Ivisic), though, combined to hit 11 shots and only 4 were from the 3-pt line. 0 points from the FT line. I can remember instances from both halves where they just shoved our guys down the paint toward the basket.
