Am I the only one worried about USC?

Sure we have two wins in a row against them but they weren't dominating performances...even thou SS quit, he left some good talent and they have nothing to lose. To me this is the most dangerous game we have left on the schedule...we need our A game so that we aren't down 2 TDs in the 4th quarter and have to have a miracle comeback...we need to make them one dimensional so we can turn the rush loose and pound the qb...we don't need to let them hang around...

Yes.

This season has taught me to always worry until the clock shows 00:00. Regardless of who we are playing and how much of a lead we have.

They were better. UT wasn't as good. USCe is currently scoring 20.5 ppg vs the SEC. In the past two years they scored 31.6 and 34.0 respectively. Their scoring D has been bad since '13 due to huge talent losses. They were 13th in the SEC last year and are currently 13th. Drew Lock has completed 42.3% of his passes. He completed 75% vs USCe.

Well, no, he really didn't outside of Cooper. The wide speculation about his retirement has hurt recruiting over the past couple of years coupled with the rise of Clemson. He left their roster no better than he found it.

and they have nothing to lose.
More importantly... virtually nothing to win while UT has a lot to play for in a positive sense.

I hope the team doesn't take them for granted. Jones has done an exceptional job of getting the team in the proper mindset and not allowing overconfidence to hurt the Vols.

That said, it won't take UT's A game to beat USCe... and probably not their "B" game.

You appear to be significantly overestimating USCe.

With the way our football team has been the past several years I worry about every team when it gets closer to game time.....even North Texas.

I believe this game is very close in the first half, with Tenn pulling away in the 3rd , and we will win by 14 in the end but SC is a scary game , with their last 2 years of disappointments against us. They will come out fired up , and ready to play , they matched up with A&M very well , before the pick 6 they had A&M on their heels, and came back the next drive and answered with a touchdown, we will need to put touchdowns on the board not field goals , to break them. GO VOLS!!!

To say USCe is the most dangerous game left on our schedule is stating the obvious. Beyond them, we have one of the worst teams in all of the country in N. Texas, a Missouri team that has fewer offensive TDs in SEC play than Tennessee has special teams TDs, and a Vandy team that is awful offensivwly as well.

I will say that it is the only game left that gives me pause for concern, but we should handle that team at home by 14 points IMO.

I hear everyone saying that this game isn't going to be close. They played Texas A&M tough in College Station with a running QB. I think a lot of people are underestimating them. I don't think the team is. But there are a lot of fans who are looking at this game like it's the 90's again.

No. Anytime a receiver with the name Cooper is playing us, we are not completely safe. They played well against Tamu.

Hell No! The ghost of Spurrier will be pacing up and down their sideline and he loved beating Tennessee more than breaking par at Augusta!

Steve Spurrier is still alive :ermm:

This game is similar to the 90's match ups between these teams.

TAM isn't exactly playing great football right now. They were dominated by Bama and Ole Miss in the two weeks prior to USCe. TAM's total O however vs USCe was greater than the total of their offense vs Bama and Ole Miss. It was their highest total of the year... even more than Ball St. TAM is still one of the worst defensive teams in the SEC.

I'm nervous about this game but I don't think it will be close at the end....hope not anyway! We have beaten them on the literal last play of the game the last 2 years!! Both upsets...I think this team is focused. GO VOLS!!!

I'm just glad it's at home. They will probably put up some points on us. They do have some talent and are playing for their Interim Coach. This won't be as easy as UK was I don't believe. They have nothing to lose so they can take more chances and be more aggressive. I think we win 38-24 or 38-28,something like that.

I think the person most worriied about this game is the SC coach.

He doesn't have anything to worry about. He can play aggressive and use the revenge and upset angle. These are the type of games that can be tricky and they have some offense to score on us.

UK is a better team with better coaching and more talent.

They only get what UT gives them. UT has a strong advantage in every match up.

He has everything to worry about. For one, he has a significant talent gap to overcome. He faces a staff that is more stable and, well, just better than his. He faces Dobbs and a UT O that is 3rd in the SEC in scoring. The Vols have scored more points than each of their opponents allow on avg except for Arkansas. UT smothered a UK offense until the game was out of hand that is in every respect better than USCe's offense.

And... he's playing for his job or his resume. The emotional angles last for maybe a series... then it comes down to who plays the hardest and best. There is absolutely no reason to believe that won't be UT.

Man chill pop a top, uncork a bottle and take a nip this TENNESSEE team won't lose another game this year we are 3 play's away from being a top 10 team and they would be talking about us as a playoff team or playing for a spot, we all know what happen don't need to get in to it, but we are a top 15 team right now with a 4 and 4 record, RELAX SC doesn't have nothing for us we cover the 17 easy, now if you have bet the house i might worried a little that SC might sneak a late 1 or 2 to cover but losing no way, just enjoy these next few azz kicking TENNESSEE will be giving, with the lose to bama and the come back against the dawgs this team grew up in front of our eyes, its AZZ KICKING TIME IN TENNESSEE GO VOLS BUCK BAMA.:bottom:
