I'm not the only one, prob the minority but said from day 1 over n over it should have been Hookerz job to begin with.Im not sure how heupel came to the conclusion Milton was the clear cut starter.I mean film review is pretty self apparent.Hooker has multiple Power 5 starts, mobile etc.NO WAY IN HADIAS Milton would have us within a td with 5 mins left, not a chance.Love this team and the fight, sorry ass refs did us ZERO favors today.

Milton has the stronger arm that the coaches want, but Hooker has looked more consistent once he got in the flow. He may not be able to hum the out throws past DBs and get the ball as deep, but you should be able to coach around that

If Heupel didn't go get Milton,Hooker is ur guy from the get go.Plenty of reps, has exp already I mean why Milton only Heupel knows for sure.I wanna think somewhere up top his hand was forced idk,I can't see Heupel seeing Milton after 3 years n college and saying " Come here give me 2 montjs, months, gonna start and im confident u can lead this team off what we know and have saw.

This game is on the coaching, not the players.
Coaching grade = D

Yes I saw it too. He still seems a little uncomfortable but with a couple more games and some trust in his blockers, he could be much improved. If you remember Dobbs and his O-line had some incredible chemistry because of the off-field relationships. That’s definitely one aspect that’s missing with this team.

Milton has a good arm but can't put the ball where it needs to be. The one receiver was going WTF when it went way over.

In Hooker? He’s not lightening fast but smooth and seems very elusive.
Based on the spring game I didn't have much faith in Hooker. IF, he would have started this game we might have won. I'm sure Milton is a fine upstanding young man, but he's not a QB.

Easy answer is Milton has the highest ceiling and Heupel knows this is a 3 year rebuild. If Heupel can turn Milton into Cam 2.0 with 2 years of work then fans won’t care about bad years 1 & 2 when we’re winning the SEC in year 3. Do I think it will happen? No, but the only way UT gets back to relevancy is by taking some big gambles and getting lucky with them.

Milton having 3 years to play while Hooker being a 1 year rental is definitely going to work against Hooker.
