With practice just getting started and reading such great results from the freshmen and other members of the UT football team. I have large expectations for our team. With that being said I also had high hopes for last year team and believing the hype of how good our line would be and seeing that it wasn't what everyone expected. So my question is should I have tempered expectations with the reports that are coming out now? I feel that our team is better than what everyone expects. So from all the ppl that I have respect for on these board, am I completely off in my view UT will be better than the naysayers?

Tennessee could really surprise a lot of people this year, it IS college football afterall and anything can happen. Depending on how you do against UCLA... I think that will be a sign of things to come this season. But, I don't think you have a shot at beating UF/Bama/UGA.

You are asking if the people who disagree with the people you disagree with will affirm that they agree with you?

UT could win 10 games this year. I think 8 wins with a bowl win is likely and 9 wins plus a bowl win is very possible.

UGA is not out of the realm of possiblities, Bama for that matter has alot to prove with a un tested quarterback.

UF on the other hand, would be a wet dream come true.

While there may be some disappointments ahead, I believe you are right in that this team will deal out some good surprises along the way as well.

Too much homer? Naw, dude. Geaux Vawls!

Yes - you should have tempered expectations.

Our QB situation is a huge weakness, and I don't think this can be fixed before the season begins. We are going to have to rely mainly on the run game.

You have to remember that Crompton and Stepens are still on campus.

I'm gonna just watch a couple of games to gauge how the team is playing and then I think I will have a better idea of what my expectations for the team are. But before the first snap I think eight wins would be great. Less would be disappointing and more would be gravy.

I'm sure you would........as much as I love betting on football, I think betus.com will have more appealing lines.
You're the one saying they're going to win one of those. Thus, I'll make this bet. If they win either, you win. If they lose both, I win. Name the amount.

I understand the concepet of what you're offering.....what I am attempting to explain is I can get better odds betting through a service. Are you offering parlay amounts??? If not

Are you listening to the reports so far. It's been pretty negative on the offensive side of the ball. Qb's making bad decisions, young recievers having a hard time with press coverage...I'm optimistic that the coaches can get 'em ready but, please please remember what our offense looked like last year. Bama played man almost the whole game! They dared us to throw it deep and we couldn't. Yes I realize it's only been 4 days and I hope and believe it will get better, but...

We can and should win 7 games and maybe a bowl game (depending on who we play) with a good run game and above average defense. With adequate QB play we can win 8, possibly even 9 if the QB's have a really good day against GA or OLE MISS. I don't see us beating UF or BAMA this year however.

I guess I am reading reports through orange colored glasses. I thank you for bringing me back down to earth and showing me the errors of my orangeaide views

There's an old saying in the south, if you're scared say you're scared.

You are the one shooting off your mouth and guaranteeing a win in one of those games. I'm simply giving you the opportunity to cash in on your prescience. I'm not sure I agree that you'll get better odds. If you bet both games against the spread and Tennessee gets killed once and wins once, you're out the vig. They only have to do what you are proclaiming is a certainty to win my wager. It only takes one positive result to win what I'm putting forth.
