Does Coach Fulmer have a relationship with Gruden ? Any chance now with great Leadership in the AD position Gruden becomes the Hero to Big Orange Nation ? I would love for a reporter to ask Gruden his thoughts on Phil Fulmer becoming AD ....

I know this sounds weird, but it just feels like home, so comforting now that Coach Fulmer is back in charge. I'm watching the 04 Florida game and having a few drinks to celebrate.

After the presser, i got a feeling... strange but familiar... it felt, dare i say it... like we won something!

Granted she didnt say much about certain things, but who cares? Were heading in a completely different direction, im thanking the lord above for that!

I got so excited, i pulled out the window flag and put it on the truck on the way to my daughters volleyball camp!

Yeah, well we just got blown out by Vandy at home. It's all about perspective. Who would you rather have? Currie?

Frankly don't give a damn who the AD is as long as they hire a good coach. Currie screwed up big time with Schiano but was on the right track with Gundy Leach or Sumlin.

I sincerely doubt Fulmer hires anyone who could possibly overshadow him. Fully expect meddling from up top just like he did when he hired Clawson.

I had a friend once who told his wife to pick out some new countertops for their house. It was a nice house and the countertops weren't real bad, but he wanted something new and glitzy. So he comes home from work one day to find a new set. He liked them, but about a year later they fall apart. So he sends her out again. She picks a new set out and couple years later he decided he hates them. The process resets. A couple years later the same. The man is frustrated at this point. The way he sees it, they have one of the top 10 houses in the neighborhood and the countertops should reflect that. He leaves for a business trip with explicit instructions to pick out and have installed the best countertops money can buy. When he got home he saw the new countertops and went ballistic. He wondered what he could do. So he burnt the house to the ground. While he neighbors stared in disbelief. He walked out to his shed and began to pull out the old original countertops. When someone asked him why he was fooling with the countertops while his home was a smoldering ruin he simply stated: "Because I have a top 10 house."

My friend is crazy, but I love him.

Probably not, because Coach Fulmer doesn't strike me as an imbecile that would bow down to a coach with a .541 career record. When is VolNation going to realize that Jon Gruden is GARBAGE, when he does get hired and makes us long for the days of Derek Dooley??

I teared up when Fulmer started speaking. It just felt right. I feel like they just wiped the slate clean and we are starting over the right way. The TN way. I'm excited for the future.

Hiring Fulmer made me cry, too.

"Our Tennessee family is united in its goals, but divided in the right path to get there. I love Tennessee too much to let her stay divided."

Who said that? Phillip Fulmer said that, the day he stepped down as coach. Seems appropriate today, as well.

I loved it. Hearing Fulmer talk was such a juge relief. I have missed the down to Earth type. A guy that truly bleeds orange and seems to genuinely love Tennessee. I love it when he said he is here to revive the football program. Fulmer understands the University of Tennessee runs through its football program.

But you started a thread wanting Blackburn for AD?

Y'all have no idea about anything yet. All he's done was take part in collusion to prevent the mike leach hire. Yeah, def haven't gotten goosebumps yet. All this could've been done out of stored up pettiness from currie taking part in his firing. I'm sorry everyone with the solid orange goggles on, but no way tee martin is more qualified for this job than mike leach. They still could've gone through with the leach hiring and then found some thing later to fire currie about. I'm sure they could've found something that happened in the past 18 days to fire him over and blow it out of proportion AFTER leach signed the bottom line!... how do we not know that haslam simply replaced a puppet with another puppet? Except this puppet won a national championship and is beloved my many. I'm going to hold my opinion about this decision until i see a little more develop.

I'd of been fine with Blackburn, but Fulmer is the better choice. A former player and a national championship winning coach. He has the passion that has been lacking. Phillip Fulmer is very wealthy, he came back to fix this trash. I'm thankful for it. I think he did step on that Schiano deal and Davenport was smart enough to realize that her only move was to fire Currie or it was her azz next.

Sounds nice, but we have never won eight in a row over Bama. Not ever. Won 7 straight from 1995-2001 and 9 out of 10 from 1995-2004.

I'll take 9 out of 10. That's why the Bammers noticed this.. It's like they saw the boogey man or something.
