Alvin Kamara

If Kamara’s career has come to a close, has he done enough to be a pro football hall of famer?
Just from a numbers perspective that seems unlikely. While a good runner his career average is just over 800 yards a season. He's been correctly lauded as a receiver and bringing YFS into play helps by adding another 550 a year which brings his yards up to 68th place overall. Just to compare RB's with a good deal more that are not in the HOF are Tiki Barber, Steven Jackson, LeSean McCoy, Ricky Waters, etc.

He rattled off 5 straight PB's to start his career which is quite impressive. I just don't know if a RB with 7250y rushing in his career is headed for the Hall.

What if you do RBs by combined yards? I’d imagine he’s up there

Doesn’t he have a few more seasons? I think he wants out of NO and I don’t blame him.
He’ll be 31 and he doesn’t seem like he has very much gas left in the tank.‘I’d be shocked if he’s still playing at a high level for much longer.

No. Having barely 7000 rushing yards ain't gonna cut it, even for a gadget runningback.

6 TD game was legendary though. Never will forget it.

But he does have 12,000 yards and 86 TD's (51st all time), tho. I feel like he'd have another 1,000 receiving yards if he just had solid QB play.

His biggest problem is he didn't play on teams and in games that mattered.

So I'm just trying to navigate through all the cap and contract stuff.

Sounds like if the Saints cut Kamara now, they take $24M in dead cap. If they do it after June 1, they take $10m in dead cap, but also a $14m dead cap hit next year. It doesn't really affect what is owed to Kamara.

He's a $16m cap hit next year if he's still on the roster.

Edit: fixed some mistakes this ish is confusing, LOL

He did for the first 4 seasons of his career... then Drew Brees retired

That's true. His 2nd year was the PI game and I think Saints only won one WC game the rest of his career, so I would say it's mostly true he didn't play in games that mattered.
