Alvin Kamara = the next Marshall Faulk ???

He may be the closest to Herschel Walker strictly looking at his "all purpose back" abilities. Can rush from LOS, check. Can return punts and kicks, check. Can catch a pass out of backfield or in slot, check. Granted, HW was bigger and faster but just looking at production all over the field, I think the comparison is valid.

Why is it so inconceivable to say Kamara could be a Faulk type of player?

Saying someone might be of a similar "type" or "ish" to player X is different than using "the next". There's a loooong way to go for Alvin to start being compared to the '92 Heisman runner up and NFL's 4th all time YFS leader. And in any case beyond the yardage Faulk was much faster than Kamara. Well under 4.4 40 and legit 100m track speed.

I do like the Westbrook comparison.

Every time I see him play he reminds me of Chris Johnson when he first came in the league. He's a a nice burst, he's shift, has the huge play ability and also a good pass catcher. Plus they're about the same size.[/QUOTE

The way they move, yes. Very, very similar. Obviously Chris Johnson could burn him with that 4.1 40. CJ had rocket boosters strapped to his legs.

Another thing that Kamara always seems to do is fall forward. Danielson mentioned during the A&M game that he has this innate ability to put his hand on the ground when falling down and always get a couple more yards.

I don't know dad...Herschel was such a different beast physically. Walker was bigger, ran with much more power and was waaaay faster. (sub-10.3 100m)

Tiki Barber maybe?

North and South yes CJ was blazing. But AK much better open field moves.

Kamara is a bad ass.
Hated him (not really) this past Saturday .... loving him this coming Saturday!

I think Hurd being out only made him better.
He's one of those backs that gets better with higher in-game mileage, IMO.
