Alvin Kamara: Rookie of the Year?

As another poster pointed out, Travis Kelce might be the best TE in football and he played for Botch at Cincinnati. In his first 4 years with the Chiefs (rookie year was injured), he's going to average over 1000 yards a season receiving. Botch started him only one year at Cinci and he finished his career with less than 900 yards. That might be an even bigger coaching screw-up than with Kamara.

He also thought JJ Watt belonged on the offensive side

Dobbs will make a lot of you look silly.

He'll be one of the best QBs ever in the NFL.

Imagine 1998 Randall Cunningham for 8-10 years.

He's that special.

D4H, in 1998, RC was a more or less a pocket passer. I hope Dobbs has improved his passing skills to be comparable to '98 Vikings RC and hopefully still has early '90s RC, Eagles comparable running skills. I still think he will be a better runner than passer, but it's a moot point, Big Ben will still be running the show for the Steelers for at least 2 more years. Hell, Big Ben may get a ring this year if my boys, the Eagles and the 2nd coming of Aaron Rogers, Carson Wentz don't.

What were Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers stats as rookies?

Greatness takes time.

Josh Dobbs will be what people think Deshaun Watson was gonna be after the hot start to his rookie year. The face of the league.

Josh Dobbs will be the best player in the NFL.

If I remember correctly, you've called players a bust after one year in the NFL. It seems Dobbs is the only exception to your narrative.

Dobbs is already a great passer. You guys are just not smart enough to see it.

If you look at the games where they both played, you see that Hurd, the much less dynamic and productive back who didn’t fit the system nearly as well, got about 70% of the touches between the two in 2015 & 2016.

I used to argue that the number should’ve been much closer to 50-50, even 60-40 would’ve been much better......but given the differences in the two backs, I think it’s easily justifiable to say that AK should’ve gotten the majority of the snaps rather than Hurd.

As for 2016 and AK getting nearly 1,000 yards from scrimmage....that clearly only happened due to Hurd’s absence. Once he got the chance to play, the production came in spades. The first 4 games of the year, when Hurd was still there, prior to the UGA game when everything went haywire, Alvin got 22 carries.....Hurd got 91. Surely you can see that was way out of kilter.

Was kamara the better RB? Yea probably. But don’t know how you can call Hurd unproductive. He had almost 1300 yards as a sophomore and was on pace to break the rushing record.

Honestly it makes me ****ing sick to my stomach. Guy should have been in the Heisman race. And to think we had him, Dobbs, JK, Malone, Jennings.....and couldnt win the east when it was at its worst ever. Just sickening.

Just a painful reminder of how stupid Jones was. As much as I wish I could disagree with D4H, Kamara is a star in the making. D4H is wrong on about a million other predictions, but Kamara is legit.

The NFL.....even more negative than what we are going through. No thanks. I only know one person that watches those liberals. Guess you make two.

Another Alvin Kamara doozy from the Elias Sports Bureay. He and Gale Sayers (1965) are the only rookies in NFL history with multiple games of 150 scrimmage yards, a rushing TD and a receiving TD.

and Butch wonders why he's out of a job

Honestly, even Bama fans should be asking "what the hell?!?!" at this point. He would have overtaken Scarborough as the starter had he stayed.

He was a stud in HS too

.

The guys per touch avg is bolstered by how good he is making catches out of the backfield. Granted some of that is Brees knows how to put the ball in the right place but let's face it...Kamara knows what to do in the open field.

As an aside this two back system works wonderfully for Alvin. He can have a long career with the decreased wear and tear.
