Id be pissed too if I averaged 2.3 yards more per touch and still didnt get many opportunities
Kamara could of been what Percy was for UF If they made him a priority
I don't agree Hurd was overrated. He ran hard while he was here. I'm biased, but the I-formation plays against Northwestern were things of football beauty. The fact that Butch had to prove he was a man and purposefully take them out the following season and make Hurd take a hand-off 5yds back from standstill irks me to this day.
Gruden would never have done that.
I bet Pruitt wished he still had Kamara and Hurd...Not sure why so many people are smack talking Jalen Hurd here. Hurd didn't decide to run the offense Butch put in, because if Butch played to his talent then we would've seen several sets with Hurd and Kamara in at the same time.
A shotgun option offense with Hurd and Kamara on either side of Dobbs would've been damn near impossible to stop, but Butch wanted his system. He refused to change it for Hurd despite it obviously not suiting him, he refused to utilize Kamara for it because it would've changed it, and its ultimately cost him his job in the end.
We just all wish it would've happened a year sooner because maybe a real coach would've used both, or at the least not lied about head injuries and driven away two five stars, because people don't seem to realize, Hurd wasn't/isn't stupid. He knew he'd go to the draft if he waited. He hated Lying Lyle so much that he would rather sit out a year and leave than deal with it a day longer. And if even a tenth of what is said about Butch is true then i's a shock more didn't leave than just Hurd and Williams.
I get the "jump on the Butch sucked train" and rightfully so, but that is where it should end. I don't care who your coach is you don't cuss him out on the sideline because you screwed up and fumbled the football. I know from people around Hurd and his "camp" that while butch was awful butch wasn't Hurd's problem. Hurd was Hurd's problem and his "camp"Not sure why so many people are smack talking Jalen Hurd here. Hurd was overrated.
He got away with it in high school when he was faster than everyone else.
In the SEC, its a whole another ball game. He was always getting chased down by Defensive Lineman & Linebackers.
Kamara is simply the better RB and should have played more while Hurd should have sat more on the bench.
Damnit Butch!
