Alumnus Sues UT Over Football Ticket Rights

Beg to differ! gators v. Tenn. in 2.5 hours! I've got wings marinating, and about to start my 3rd Old Fashioned. I will be in rare form by tip-off. I was surprised to find Tenn. favored by 3.5 when I checked a few minutes ago.

Princeton is at Harvard tonight too. Harvard favored. I only mention this because I have a lawyer buddy who went to Harvard undergrad and played quarterback!. I like to read up on Harvard sports then pretend to him like I give a flip. Long running joke that requires a lot of tedious effort on my part.

But I digress.

thats funny

i'm sure the university has changed those seats since his family got the tickets. which the university continued to honor.. That sets precedent

yeah that's exactly what i said in an earlier post. If they didn't run him out of the seats when they replaced them at a previous time, why are they trying to do it now?

sorry bout that.. didn't see it. i'm at work (as usual) and didn't see it.

No problem, just agreeing with you. There's a lot of posts in this thread, it's easy to miss some things. Hopefully you guys will be off in time to see the big game tonight.

I know the feeling bro....I'm at work too. :cray:

Be glad you have a job. This is one of many little things we are doing at my office to squeeze every penny and keep people working.

That is what you call a sign. Don't ignore it.

Not sure how one could ignore that sign. No matter how long I stand there, the doors won't open until June 1, 2009.

Even then, could it be said that I am "ignoring the sign," or rather, merely, an exceedingly patient individual?

thanks, unfortunately i get off at 11.. by the time i take the bus to my car (i work at the airport, they don't like for us to park at a gate.. something about those being for planes lol) and drive home it'll be 12. maybe it'll be on CSS this week.

Maybe I'm just not understanding something correctly, but his seats are on row 1 of the west upper deck (so all he has is a railing in front of him), correct? I haven't seen any renovations which will go all the way down to row 1 of any upper deck. So I'm not getting how his seats are going to be removed.

I think that is just it - HIS seats won't. However, OTHER west upper deck ticket holders (read: those who are still forking over the 6k UT is gouging out of them for their seats) WILL be displaced. And they are basically saying that they will give his 2 seats to some of those people who ARE willing to pay if he is not willing to move over to the other side and pay 6k.

IMO they should just stop trying to squeeze every penny out of their alumni. The dude is obviously a 2nd generation vol (at the least - maybe more) and his family has done some great work for UT. They helepd raise the funds to BUILD the area in question - not just renovate it. It was important enough that Neyland himself signed off on it. And if it was good enough for Neyland, its good enough for me, and by god it should be good enough for the university.

Show some tact and class when dealing with alumni, especially ones who have contributed so greatly to the university and the stadium.

He should refile in Knox County....
Hope he doesn't let it go...

Thanks for posting the update

He needs to push this as far as he can. I love UT football, but they are turning going to games into a rich person or corporate deal...IMO
