Too bad, it's going to happen. Pearl has said he is going to change up the uniforms for atleast one game this year.

Guess Pearl wasn't aware wearing an alternate uniform for one game disrespected our tradition and insulted some of our 'odd' fans.

All I have to say about this is, we are Orange and White, not black. Black should never be our jersey color.

Thats the whole reason its called an "Alternate"....

Were not leaving the orange and white...

I would love to see us come out in the black uni's against Memphis or at least once this season. I can guarentee you that we wear those identical black uniforms because I have seen the black jersey and shorts for sale on the internet... I'm thinking about buying one!

Duke looks hideous when they wear the black unis. Georgia can pull off the "alternate" black football jersey because black is an official color. FSU however, looks dumb in black.

i don't really care about Tennessee basketball, but black jerseys in basketball or football for the Vols is a very bad idea.

Not really b/c there are alot of teams that have black as a alternative jersey in basketball i.e. Florida, Duke, etc. So I guess we would be copying alot of teams.

Why would any team who's primary colors have no black want to wear a black uni?
As you can tell I am not a fan of the black alternate uni.

How about wearing some throwback jersey's?

Everyone in the SEC did this 2 years ago. I believe there was a vote on the UTSports site about which uni's we were going to wear and the fans chose the unis from the Ernie and Bernie era.

It makes me laugh til I cry when I hear people complain about the alternate uni...This isn't 1956 people!!! Times have changed.

Should we get rid of the three point line too??? LOL :dunno:

I was going to nominate this as one of the most ridiculous posts, but noting the time posted will just assume you were out of it one way or another.

Some things are part of Tennessee Tradition, tradition means something continuous, orange & white is part of our Tradition. How do you tie in a regulation of the game with uniforms? Totally irrelevant.

I think they should go really radical and wear "shorts" that are above their ankles. :whistling:

No, not a bad idea. Keep in mind, we are recruiting 16 and 17 year old kids, not dyed in the wool 50 year olds. I too like the orange and white, but I see no harm in spicing it up to stimulate recruiting and marketing. Some of these kids do get jazzed up over the little things (see Leslie McDonald) and I'm sure that Pearl gets input from his players as well as recruits.

I trust Pearl as a marketer, how about you guys? Wear the black! Once a year!:dance2:

If Duke can wear black unis I think UT can. Duke has more BB tradition than we could dream about and if they can pull off an alternate uni so can we.

Even the Celtics are using a lot of black in an alternate uniform. It doesn't have to be black but and alternate uni is a great idea.

Are you the same people that yell at the people in front of them to sit down and quit yelling so loud?

Accept it guys, we have an alternate uniform that is all black. Per CBP it will be worn this year at some point, deal with it. It is an ALTERNATE uniform that will be worn once this year. It's a nice change from the all orange and all white.

And you are correct JZ, a team with all the tradition of the Celtics even has an all black uniform that they occasionally break out. Guess what guys, they even sell in stores all across America. Why you might ask, because they look good, and are a change up from the all white and all green the Celtics normally wear.

If a recruit is swayed by the color of uniform, then personally, he isn't worth my time.
