I was assuming Kiffin was waiting to start Stephens untill the Ohio game, but after watching the Lane Kiffin Show he says he is going to stick with JC.... unbelievable. I respect the fact that Crompton won the job in practice but that was practice. He obviously cant do it in a game. There is now way that Stephens can be worst in a game than Crompton. We all saw him play last year and he isnt worst than Crompton.

I agree, Kiffin was saying to Crompton he could have called a better play, that was the only place Crompton could have went for a chance at a first down. I say give Stephens a significant amount of playing time against Ohio and see what he does.

Crompton had the higher completion % and didn't throw 2 pick-6's to Wyoming.

If Lane Kiffin wasn't really playing for not being blown out and actually playing for the win.

why do people keep saying this? we played the way we did because we have an incompetent qb under center. would you had rathar crompton thrown it 35-40 times along with 5-6 interceptions? kiffin played to win....he was just working with a severly handicapped offense, which led to the seemingly super conservative playcalling

People forget that this kind of playcalling is the reason we won 5 games last year instead of 3. Seriously. Had we not gone ultra-conservative we lose to Vandy and break the 200 year streak against Kentucky.

Yep we win 7-8 games this year on defense and running and IF Crompton can settle down to be good enough to manage the game and protect the ball. I don't look for Stevens to be a huge improvement next year, but at least he'll have had a full year in this system. After that we'll have big time talent under center and we'll be off to the races.

Kiffin just has to manage through the leftover sludge from the previous regime while he reloads.

I say throw bray into the fire next year. But isnt it sad that tennessee football has gone to satisfied with a ten pt. loss to fla. 10 years ago i wouldve been pissed o well

If Kiff lets Cromp throw the ball and what we know will happen happens, then they piss and moan and wonder why he let him throw the ball...his play calling is limited to what we have to carry out the plays...some people are never satisfied and how many of those that bash kiff are getting paid to coach? his job, his life, his rep, all on the line and it means alot to this man, he will do his best to make us proud...give him time.

Im sure you, just like me, wish Bj would have stayed

Absolutely not. If he can throw picks against the might Furman Paladins and the rest of I-AA, I definitely don't want him doing it in Knoxville. Plus, he's a quitter, UT has no need for him.

One thing Crompton is not is a quitter. Wish Coleman would've rubbed some of that off on him.

If JC airs out a few more Cromptons vs Ohio, then his days may be numbered. On one hand I am hoping to see Nick's time finally arrive....absolutely cannot be any worse...I just cannot fathom how. Well... unless all Nick has in his bag of tricks are Pick-6s.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that we had a hell of a lot better chance breaking a run than Crompton throwing some huge touchdown pass.
