Already depressed, Dave Hooker just piled on.

I don't pay attention to reporters drama drivel. Not worth my time, I would only feel dumber if I read it. It's almost time for real time football that is settled on the field and not folks blathering their opinions and biases. GBO!!!!!

Losing DK is definitely a huge blow for a while, but I believe we have the depth to back him up reasonably. Certainly not to match his talent, but close enough to get the job done even if it won't be pretty.

Let them shout and holler their doomsday prophecies about Team 121. It'll make it so much sweeter when we come out swinging and have the 'jackets back in their nest by halftime.

I'm trying to look at it that way.
Just hate that it was our starting MLB against a run team.
But, everybody has to help whoever we plug in.
Meanwhile, Hoping the news is good on DKJ knee test tomorrow.

I don't think we need to worry to awful much here, yes its a big blow but Butch and the gang has recruited on a high level for 4 years now. Its not like we have a bunch of scrubs sitting on the pine. This team is getting zero praise from anyone. I think we will be much better than last year. I am confident that analyzers all over will have a much different opinion come Tuesday morning. WGWFTA GBO!!!!!!!

With all due respect to DK, if losing a guy like him throws our season into jeopardy, in year five, we've got a coaching problem, not an injury problem.

I'm actually not terribly worried about this. I'm confident enough that our D-line has improved enough from Brady Hoke coaching them to take that immense amount of pressure off of our Linebackers. We have a couple good guys ready to play there this year.

Then add in that coach Warren had UNC in top 5 pass defenses in the country while he was there, I think our secondary will finally be able to stop the big strikes.

All of that puts less pressure on individual position groups.

I went and looked at DKs stats and honestly wonder why so many think he is that good. Granted I think the guy is a good player. But he doesnt look elite in any way. One injury should not derail a whole defense in year 5.

I've been wanting to say this, but I just don't feel like having to respond to the 400 flame comments.

But yeah. I think he's a good player, but to me he's never been someone that literally changed the course of games if he played.

That’s far from ideal considering Tennessee is already replacing linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin from last season.

OP, if it makes you feel any better, he also made the above statement. JRM played what...two full games last year? :ermm:

Doesnt mean he wont be elite this year. He may be. But from what we have seen, he is not an elite game changing LB.

Hooker is a pimp.

Well, that can not be unseen.
Whatever happened to him, anyway.
He used to be on tv taking those 700 lb people out of their houses with cranes and bulldozers.

Then the tabloids said he moved to another country and had a sex change?

Article is pretty much spot on.

But, what if it gives me a sad.
What about my feelings and those of Vol Nation.
The season is a week away.
We should all be dreaming of championships, at least until October. I don't like sad news. I refuse to read it.

Then you can just call it clickbait and act like it doesnt exist.

While there is a lot of truth to the article, but Kirkland Jr hasn't been exactly stellar. The bad part is they have no one even close to him at this time, that is on Butch Jones. Seem to get into this situation every year. Player development under Jones is suspect at best.

losing dk is devastating u need that mlb sometimes to shoot through them gaps and make tackles playing that option..people sleep on JUMPER he is pretty good linebacker..i think he can get the job done look for a high scoring game
