Yes it did. I found myself wondering the other day who was the worse QB, Crompton or Henton.
Time clouds the memory, so I can't remember how bad Sterling was compared to our current situation.
Here's the most amazing thing, UT was undefeated (5-0) with Hinton at QB and rated #6 in the AP poll, but were getting beat badly at Bama when Majors put in Andy Kelly for more vertical passing and Andy led a furious, but unsucessful, comeback against the Tide. Sterling never reclaimed his starting roll. UT won the SEC that year and the year after with Andy Kelly as QB.
But, this is just ridiculous logic. Why would Kiffin play someone he knows is, at least, as bad as Crompton and probably worse? So, he can say that we suck, but at least we tried something different?
Well, if that's the case, why not play Lamaison? Why not just start every freshman? At least we would've tried something different. No, you play the players you think will give you the best chance to win and Kiffin is doing that. His options just suck.
You know, I remember all that but for some reason I had in my head how horrible Hinton was. I was a much younger and more hot headed fan then. If Peyton Manning was qb he would have similar numbers to Crompton because he would be throwing to the same skillet handed receivers. How many interceptions were thrown to GJ(I don't feel loved when I block) or I want the balls to hit me in the chest some D Moore, and thank goodness they woke quinton up after the first half. Maybe it was the pass that JC stuck in his ear!
I don't understand why we ran the Nuke gun one time and got a huge gain, and then forgot it was in our playbook.
The reason I put this in this thread is because Nuke deserved more playing time than he got.
