From his halftime comments, I believe this is where he really thinks some of the crap is coming from. I agree 100% as I saw it also and commented to my dad on it during the game.

On examples of guys not playing the right way:

“When you’ve got guys man-to-man when they run down the field, and you don’t even guard them. When you can’t keep your poise enough to look to the sideline and get the defensive call, that’s pretty elementary. I don’t know about the offensive side as far as that part of it, but just from the defensive side, it’s pretty telling. I know their signals; I watched their calls. They kind of made the same calls we made, just watching them over there. You call a corner blitz, and we tippy-toe in there and nobody blocks us, and they throw a 50-yard touchdown. I bet you when they call a corner blitz, I bet you their corner didn’t tippy-toe up in there.”

Those players he mentions can either get it going or GTFO!

I think that's what he was saying

And another quote!

On how long it is going to take to compete with Alabama for all four quarters:

“You know what, we have four seniors that are playing on our football team right now. So, we have a lot of guys that are trying to do it the right way. Unfortunately, we’ve got some guys out right now. We’re thin at a few spots, and when you start going down the order, it showed today. So, you really couldn’t tell how some guys played and how they competed based off of us being thin at other spots. So, I think we can sign 25 guys in here and basically trade 25 for four. We’ve got some really good seniors that work hard, but we’ve really got four that are playing a lot, so it gives you a chance.”

If you are a decent recruit, and hear this, it means playing time right away. I think JJ Peterson would be in there now if his book learning hadn't got in the way, and he's gotta redshirt because of it. I also think the Auburn victory is huge in recruiting. Pruitt can show progress and good coaching, and that is what these guys want if they are going to play at the next level. It'll be even better if we finish strong. Need to win 3-4 more games.

I wonder about the mental impact going into Columbia. How banged up are we? I think it's gonna be negative if UT doesn't come out executing. Bama's behind us. The future starts now as far as I'm concerned.
JG is good to go and hopefully we will get Abernathy and Jamir Johnson back. I hope Josh Palmer is ok. We will see SC should be a good game. we have to utilize our receivers and ty Chandler. Our defense will continue to improve

LOL. My daughter plays basketball, and some of the girls on her middle school team think they are on the catwalk when they run down the court, or something. They bounce and almost pose as they go, with no regard to the urgency of the play. That's the first thing I thought of when Pruitt said, "Tippy-toe." We need to get our football players off the catwalk.

Will the coaches take the opening kickoff instead of deferring till second half ? How many times do we have to see us kickoff and the opposing team march straight down the field to take the early lead ? Why not take the ball first and try to get the lead even if it is just a field goal. Let's hope Chryst will get the start for the next game.

By comparison, I'm watching LSU last night and the corner blitzer comes barreling in toward Fitzgerald who sidesteps him and leaves him on the turf. But quick as a flash, the guy jumps back up and tackles him as Fitzgerald pulls it down and starts to run. I don't know if it is pure athleticism or just more desire, but there is little doubt that Pruitt needs to find another breed of players who can be instilled with the kind of football mindset he's looking for. Right now, he has to play the hand he's been dealt for the most part.

Agreed. When you look deep at the guys he is recruiting, they are just different than what Butch did. The DBs for example. It seems Pruitt is targeting DBs more in the Minkah Fitzpatrick mold. Bigger, faster, longer in your face guys that can play man to man on the WRs. I am not saying we will get a Fitz type player. Just like him as far as size and the way he plays. Pruitts DL and OL are bigger. So are the LBs and RBs.

I think you can tell by his demeanor in the press conferences that he is upset. I believe he knows he doesnt have the team necessary to really compete in the SEC.

We should have expected comments like this. I mean its not a coincidence when Pruitt saw our team and was shocked at how small we were. He knows he doesnt have the right kinds of players yet.

CJP calls it like he sees it, knowing the truth hurts. That is very impressive so far. I like the no-sh*t, nuts and bolts attitude.

My daddy used to tell me, "Son, some folks ride the train, and some folks drive the train." CJP looks like a driver.

If the CB was Greedy William's it was probably both.

Guy is a future top 10 to 15 pick or better.

Some athletes are lazy and only go half speed. The bench is a good place for them type

For clarification, i believe these are all quotes from his postgame press conference. Crazy to think he said all this at half.

Yes all post game quotes. I wanted to post and clarify his halftime statement the sideline reporter made on his behalf.

Can you imagine the dilemma of trying to coach kids you KNOW aren't big/strong/fast enough? Can you imagine the dilemma of trying to play for a coach you KNOW doesn't think you are big/strong/fast enough? I bet "disheartening" doesn't even come close to describing that.

Agreed...just wish Pruitt would have had his butt over here recruiting this new breed of player earlier instead of hanging around bama to help them win another championship and keep the train rolling against us.

If we're gonna win any games the rest of this season he's gonna do it with these same players he's taking about.

Gonna be interesting to see how they react going forward.

Challenge has been issued.

I think what coach is trying to teach them is that effort and execution is what is required when you are outmatched Physically. He’s saying “you’re not big/strong/fast enough to not have To give you’re all every play”.

On SEC Now one of the heads, Chizik I think, was commenting on the “Auburn players quit” narrative. He basically said that was a cop out, that players are hungry to compete, and that Auburn was simply out coached.

So, I agree with you. I do believe that if we drop USCe, UK, and Mizzou (some combo of those and Vandy) then it’s going to be a hard sell and people are likely to forget about Auburn. But, a strong finish and a bowl appearance combined with beating Auburn will go a long way toward a strong class.

And, Pruitt and this staff with young, malleable talent could be lots of fun to watch in the years to come.

He said from the beginning when he was hired, "We are gonna have to learn to strain and give 100% every play." This isn't a chicken or the egg issue. Some players fought, others "tippy-toed, didn't cover their man and gave up TDs, didn't look to the sideline for the call (elementary mistakes)." They acted out and got reprimanded. We all have to stop with this victim mentality and hold ourselves accountable, on the field and in life. Even the players are fistbumping in post game conferences and holding one another accountable. This is character building 101. CJP loves and cares for these boys, that is why he refuses to let them not give their all. This is a life lesson as well; elementary lesson matter of fact, that is taught in pee-wee ball. If these boys had given their all and gotten beat, CJP wouldn't have said it (Post UGA game proves that).
