I'm so glad you pointed out Fl only had 2 injured players. The naysayers on here will swear it's closer to 30. On D Sat we had a 4th stringer and an offense lineman playing key positons. I forget who (too many PBRs).

I know this is irrelevant, but I used to tour in a band, and another band we toured with meet that "leave Britney alone guy " in the op's post at a waffle house..... seriously though shoop can't control the amount of experience/technique, football iq, and team chem. that has been lost. You think he magically sucks all of a sudden? Other schools wanted him because he's good. We have to follow the fact patterns.

They had more than two...their biggest hit IMO was the loss of both starting line backers....there's usually not a huge drop when the second string guys rotate in but when the second stringers move up to start, your third stringers will have to rotate in some...our problem, unlike the Gators, is that we lost our second string also at DT...Vickers is still playing but your #2, 3, 4 and 5 DTs are gone...similar at LB, we were missing #1 and 2; had #3 (Jumper) but we are also missing #4 for the season and # 5 and 6 got hurt in the same game before Kirkland came back..

So we're playing third team guys and using fourth team guys to give them a break...the Gators had injuries on the D but weren't having to start third team guys and play fourth team guys...it makes a difference...

Florida was lucky as all get out. LSU scored a grand total of three points on FOUR trips inside the 8 yard line.

Agreed. Some people just can't recognize how much variance there is in football.

If you change literally nothing else all seasons except two plays, we are 10-1

Likewise you could change two different plays and we would be 6-5

The question is why arent Bates and Bryant ready to contribute? These guys ought to be competing for starting positions. Instead, even with attrition they can't find the field. Both 4 stars.

Some of you are just plain stupid. I hope Butch leaves. I hope we hire someone and go 5-7, 6-6, and 6-6 over the next 3 years. I then want you to sack up and admit you wanted Butch gone. He has turned us around. Shut up about his cliches and mannerisms. Tennessee football is improving just not up to YOUR standards. Get over it dummies. IT'S A GAME! YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO HAVE A TEAM/COACH DO THINGS THE WAY YOU THINK THEY SHOULD BE DONE. Otherwise, you'd be the coach. If it bothers you that bad, stop buying UT merch, stop going to games, stop watching. And please stop talking about being EMBARRASSED by the performance of your football time. Pathetic. I get your point - but bad way to show it. No, I do not want to have to go through another dooley era just to "show" negavols how much they would miss CBJ. That should never be the attitude of a real fan IMHO.

Don't forget the one DT we have left. Guys we are converting DEs to play at an interior position that they are not physically gifted for. No wonder why we can't stop the run. Our replacement DTs were getting blown off the ball terribly in the UK and Missouri games. THATs the reason we can't stop anyone. I hope our O comes to play Saturday.

Summed up in one post what most people can't seem to understand. Every year most decent teams (and even some terrible teams) are one or two or three plays away from either having a great record or a terrible record. That's just the way football is. Thats also why we probably shouldn't have such a knee jerk reactions to everything, good or bad.

We should have probably won A&M and USCjr if one or two plays go our way. 10-1.

But we probably could have lost to App St. and UGA. 6-5 if a few plays don't go our way.

Let's just be content for the moment at 8-3 and see how the next two games come out.

Plus this is supposed to be fun. Right? Or am I missing something?
