I’m with you on this. I wouldn’t be shocked for a HC hire early next week.

Certainly has gone a lot quicker and seemingly less chaotic than previous hires. It’s almost like someone over there knows what they’re doing for once.

I don’t remember what day Steele was hired, but I am in agreement with another poster that suggested Fulmer planned on surviving this and replacing Pruitt with him. The brass apparently had other plans though. I doubt that any official contact has been made but probably some back channel stuff. But I’d say official talk did begin today.

If the top brass were working around Fulmer then having him at the press conference was a puzzling choice.

I agree. By passed the boosters, limited the committee to 3 and kept their mouths shut until they had their AD guy. No way Donde Plowman reads the investigation summary on Friday, fires 9.....uh 10 on Monday and has the new AD on Thursday after 2 Zoom meetings and a flight to Florida. No way. Danny White was vetted and ready to sign before Monday. Hope the head coach is about to sign on the dotted line as well.

If that is the case, it instills warm and fuzzy feelings in me! Would be a far cry from the previous, run a Craigslist ad for a coach Bull Crap! A little forethought and planning has been a LONG time coming!

I'm shocked that we did something competent for the first time in decades, but not ready to get too excited till we see the coaching hire. The AD job is much more attractive than the HC job IMO due to the possibilities of penalties / sanctions and all the players entering the portal. But maybe ... just maybe ... we have a plan. Much more optimistic today than I was yesterday at least.

Same, but.......Donde Plowman has impressed me today. I thought the presser on Monday was awkward and painful for all involved, but she came out swinging for the fences. I hope this a sign of things to come. Real leadership at the top.

Considering that the investigation started in November, I'd hope that once they realized how bad things actually were, that they started making plans for Fulmer's and Pruitt's replacements as soon as it became apparent that they would need to be relieved of their positions.

Same here brother. If we follow this up with a good HC in the next week I’ll be on cloud 9 and won’t give about losing players to the transfer portal.

I agree this was unexpected and appears pre planned. I have thoought since this all broke out that Steele would be interim next year and we would take our time on both hires but does not appear to be the case, I wonder if the exodus of players is pushing them to speed things up

But.......no leaks. The media didn't have a clue about the AD, so.........the big boosters didn't either. To keep all this under wraps between what looks like only 3 people is impressive. UT can't do anything athletically without somebody spilling the beans.
