Everyone is in panic mode after one game, the first game of the season. The boys were just knocking the rust off. We'll be fine. It also looked as though the play calling was a little reserved against App State, like the coaches didn't want to show their hand before we start playing in bigger games. The first game is about throwing some guys into the mix to see how they respond to real pressure and see how they all fit into the system. I'm sure we'll get a good preview of how this season will turn out on Saturday.

We are not very good at throwing the ball, so teams focus on our run game. Football is in the coaching, and our pass game has never consistently looked good, it's on this coaching staff. Quit calling out players and realize they are doing what the coaches train them to do.
No,
1. We were a missed extra pt from losing to AP St.
2. We scored 3 first half points vs Ap St.
3. It took OT to beat Ap St.
That is Sad!
Worrying about our OL play is appropriate.
Yes we had a bad game offensively but this was same offense that rushed for UT's record high rushing yards last season. They also scored average 35 points a game. They had some bad moments last season but the panic around here is so amazing.
Guys calling Debord 'synchronized swimming' reservation maker and other names is stupid. Dude just lead us to one of the best offensive seasons in a long time.
WRs are a concern but I do not doubt our ability to score points and/or get good OL play !!
The biggest concern is just the offensive line's inconsistency. If we were rushing the ball like crazy and we had a couple miscues on offense and unusual turnovers I don't think it would haven't been that bad, but not getting a consistent push is worrisome.
I'm glad it happened with App State so it won't happen with anyone else this year. Almost every team every year gas games like that.
What if app st kills miami..and we destroy vt..then a meteorite hits earth and rest of the season is canceled...will we be NC?
It is easy to play the what if game..
When what counts is wins n losses when it's all said and done.
In case all the negavols didn't notice..we are 1-0
Totally agree. Just posted above you how we came into the game unprepared and App st came in like it was a Nat title game. our preparation has to get better!Well, until the season is over then discussing the remainder of the season is always a "what if" game. We are 1-0, true. We also played an inferior team, showed a weakness on O-line for better teams to focus on, showed and inability to pass the ball downfield, showed uninspired offensive play calling to say the least, an ineffective pass rush and lack of oomph at our strength the D-line, and basically backed in to a victory.
It's a long season and they have plenty of time to turn it around. However, this team is not last uears team and hype is just hype. Based on the one game sample size of 2016 and the history of these coaches, I'd say that there is much more cause for concern than there is optimism.
