All things STOCKS

Took a flier on $SPPI. Expecting FDA approval soon. Could double if that happens. Seems like a pretty good base in the $3.00 - $3.30 range, so risk seems pretty mitigated until FDA makes the decision. Of course I could easily lose half my investment if they fail to approve it.

Lots of good stuff put on sale today. Nice markdowns on ERX, MA, CCL, BLK, WHR, AAPL, JETS, SCHW, MLM, crypto variants, DXCM, BA, DIS and many more. So many opportunities but just a finite amount of buying power and uninvested cash. Need to proceed slowly. Some will be even cheaper.

I agree. I bought primarily on Friday, so a minor miss there. I had sold an Apple put last week and I actually bought that one back Friday to avoid getting Apple Friday, so that was an okay move.

$RKT taking a dip on a PT downgrade. I'm still waiting to get in. Let's see what happens today.

I did buy some LUV this morning for a swing. Nice bounce off previous support levels. ER on Thursday.

Good day to unload more stocks. Only thing I'm buying, REITs and stocks that can raise prices, and people will still buy when the price increases.
Of course it's just my guess. No one can predict the future.

Also started reloading some NCMI on this dip. Not gonna flip it this time, just going to keep loading. Down close to 50% from it's 52 week high.

Grabbed a lot more shares of RKT last week at $18.07 and $17. I might get goofy and buy more if it falls again this week. Hopefully it can get over $20 soon and I will start selling call options. I’ve never attempted that so any tips from experienced options traders will be appreciated.

I also opened a position in DraftKings. No current plans to add to it and I really don’t want to hold for the long term.

Well my DKNG is gone from my account after barely 2 trading days and a $4.60 gain. I’ll probably never come that close to hitting a top and bottom ever again. I haven’t decided where to set another buy limit. I wouldn’t mind holding before football season kicks off.

DKNG is tough one. I made money about a year ago selling primarily in 50-65 range. I question their ability to operate a business.
They advertise a bunch. Will it pay off? Seems like a crap shoot to me. Still, it should be a stock to trade buying low and selling with a decent profit.

It’s not unusual for stocks to struggle for a year or more to exceed their post IPO run ups. I would think that they are benefiting heavily from the stay at home economy. I’d rather be in one of their more established, casino based competitors with a longer term position. But I think that it can be successfully traded into the coming sports cycle. NFL. CFB. MLB playoffs. NCAAT. Having so much voting control by one guy makes it an unattractive LT hold for me. I’ll probably never make it a major position, but I just scored my lunch money for the next few months.

PANW discounted today. It’s a well run company in a good industry that’s suitable for BUY and HOLD.

ISRG is off a bit today as well but still has the 70x multiple.

Buying the losers on strong up days for the broad market isn’t a solid strategy, but both are solid businesses.

$NURO went absolutely crazy. At it's peak, it traded over 1100% from it's price just 2 days ago.

Wonder who the poor souls were that bought at $38 and what their thought process was.

I wonder if RKT gets to the mid 16s next or north of 20? Either works for me. I’ll either increase my holdings or sell covered call options. Gut feeling is that it won’t be too volatile for a while. It really didn’t crash too hard last week through Monday. Haven’t touched 20 for a month or so.

I agree about it's volatility. I think it'll trace back and forth between 19's and mid 16's for the next month or so into earnings as it follows this descending triangle formation

I’ll be surprised to see much happening below 17, but I think I’ll increase my holdings by another quarter or a third if it does. It’s turning into a pretty big bet for me… but hopefully won’t be one of my more stupid moves. Buying GoPro after shedding about 2/3rds of its share price didn’t work out too well a few years back. But at least it didn’t go to zero. I was hoping that GoPro would get into the police body cam business. Instead they tried to get into some kind of subscription based content model. I don’t have faith in their nutty founder/CEO. It could be a great company if he’d get out of the way and let it be run by different leadership.

I think that I will buy Palo Alto (PANW) if it has a similar drop soon. They aren’t currently profitable (huge deterrent to invest IMO), but Russian and Chinese attacks won’t be going away soon. And with work-at-home becoming standard practice there are many more points of access for corporate networks to become infected with something nasty.

Thoughts on where to park the proceeds of a house sale for 3 to 5 years? Probably not willing to do anything high risk but CDs are really bad now.
