All things STOCKS

What's funny with KTOV, is that I literally just put my trailing stop in for 20 points and then 5 min later, I get the notification that it sold lol. I believe in the stock, so I'm a little bummed to be out, but I won't complain about 70% profit.

Anyone else in KTOV?

I was but I took the 45% and learned my lesson

👀 are on it now. 15,500 shares @.009 😎

Also hired a guy from Amazon for the ad isory board.

Edit: The NYT doesn't mention uvc as a disinfectant but I wouldn't expect them too considering they all pushed back on Trump when he mentioned it. Fact of the matter is NY is disinfecting buses with these lights.

Maybe he holds BA in a taxable account, sits on gains, and would like it to be in a tax deferred account. Can't move it over without selling, paying capital gains taxes, and reestablishing in the tax advantaged account.
If i took my 401k in a fund and withdrew it to move over to my trading account to purchase BA. Wouldn't I be taxed on the withdrawal and then taxed on capital gains once I used it?

Possible. Not clear to me.
There might be buying opportunities at prices considerably lower than the current price.

I bought some near $105, and sold half of it at $193. I will buy more if it drops to $120.

I do believe they are a poorly run company.

You’d be triple taxed IMO. Early withdrawal penalty, it’ll count as income (taxed again) them capital gains tax.

If I understand, your 401k is now in a mutual fund. If you control your 401k you can sell the mutual fund, and the money will go to a cash account(near cash) which is typically a money market fund. Then buy the stock with those funds.
If your 401 k is at your current job You might be stuck with what they offer, and that seldom includes the ability to buy individual stocks.

Sorry if that is not clear.

Hope it goes for ya buddy! I was thinking about it today, but didn't pull the trigger. It's barely moves all day, so I may still get in tomorrow, but I don't have any settled funds at the moment and nothing else I want to get rid of.

My sub penny stock I'm going to ride for awhile is Appswarm. I like the potential here with very low risk. 30k shares.

Do you think we get a buying opportunity in financials after the stress test results this afternoon?

I'm afraid that I've not been following sectors real closely lately, so I can't say if I believe the financials are toppy or not. There are a lot of names that I'm interested in adding at some point. Health Care and Financials are always my favorite sectors. High tech also. Industrials and Transportation has-been kind of boring for some time, but I think they'll do well as government stimulus gets deployed for several years. I used to really like the broadcast/advertising industry but just a handful of huge tech companies are now taking those dollars.

Electronic banking and transaction tech will be viable businesses for a long time IMO. I'd actually include Apple to be in that space. I don't like Facebook's approach so much, but I don't think it's a bad stock to own.

The capital gains tax would happen if he bought stock and sold it for a profit. If he sold it for a loss it would be a capital loss. Capital gains are offset by capital losses. Net Capital losses up to $3000 can be taken on form 1040 to offset income. Any amount greater than $3000 can be carried forward.

I think the banks are getting to a point that if you don't like them at this level, you're never going to like them. There will be headwinds for sure, but I think the stress test results could actually be a positive in the near term when it is fully digested. There may be some choppy trading in the near term, but I think we look back at these levels in five years shaking our heads.

Facebook may offer a great entry very soon if they don't stop hemorrhaging advertisers. The FB boycott was all fun and games until VZ announced they are pulling ads from the platform. That's a large customer to lose. I like Zuck's approach to the censorship issue, but Dorsey is winning the pr on that front. It will be interesting to watch it play out.

Fully aware of capital gains taxes unfortunately

Ha, I sold 20,000 shares of a failing bank stock for $3/share. My basis was $14/share.
That was about ten years ago, and I'm just now using up my loss carry forward.
Why I still hate the big banks, and their sub prime lending practices.

I should have been more clear. I quoted you, but I was addressing llvol's statement about capital gains. He seemed to imply that he would owe cap gains when he spent the funds.

At any rate cashing in a 401k is not the thing to do unless you qualify for a hardship withdrawal and have to. Even then Filing bankruptcy might be a better choice.

Play with a 401k inside the 401k. Taking it out is asking for problems. I rolled over an old 401k IRA into my current 401k and the IRS sent me a notice a couple years later that I owed them $10k in interest and penalties. And that was a transfer that I had all my ducks in a row. They watch retirement accounts like a hawk.
