All things STOCKS

Looks like senate will remain blue. Hopefully, House will go red which will be enough to create the gridlock we need for next two years.

Was hoping for red and red to go along with our blue prez.

DIS earnings tomorrow…..is there a play there?

I listened to this earning call. If you can get past the woke business, this is indeed probably a play. Long term. DIS should bottom this week I think (???).

They under-performed in Q4. However, the overall FY22 numbers were decent. Q4 is always their weakest quarter.

Negatives: Lost revenue due to Hurrican Ian. Their park in China remains closed for who know how long. Disney Paris has boomed, but Euro is weak against dollar. Usual disclaimer about economy uncertainty. The interesting thing about economy uncertainty is they haven't yet had to discount tickets. The parks stayed max'ed out at full price for now.

Positives: Streaming finally hit inflection point. In FY23. Disney+ and ESPN+ are going to boom. Strong subscription growth on Disney+. Have a deal with the Southeastern Conference. US parks are booming. Cruises are doing fairly well. 3-4 stacked movies ready for release in Q1.

It should dip into $80's price range at open today and I'm going to grab a few. Not a fan of the woke stuff, but think my under age 10 family members will want Disney merchandise for Christmas.

Are you still watching it? Hope you shorted at $100.

I didn’t make a move on it pre ER but I did buy 100 shares as an entry afterhours yesterday at 90.80. I’ll buy more this week (probably 900 more shares) so that I can sell 10 covered calls against them moving forward.

Fwiw, we’re going to Orlando for the week of Thanksgiving and decided to hit Disney/Uni for a couple of days. All days were completely sold out for Magic Kingdom just a couple of days after we purchased our tickets. We needed 2 extra for my wife’s parents and they ended up having to buy hopper tickets and can only come to MK after 2pm. So the parks are definitely full.

Great move!! I didn't touch it afterhours yesterday. Was surprised by the size of miss. Even after listening to earning call (missed about ten minutes of Bob's talk while on a phone call), still don't fully understand how the bottom line was off that much.

Buying at $90.80 was a solid move. However, still think it dives to $88-89 on the open. If so, I have $20k ballpark earmarked to grab 2,100 shares to hold for 3-6 months. Will reassess then.

Overall, I think they will be strong in Q1 even with the China closed. With US & Paris parks full, Disney will move products for Christmas. Even in a bad economy

Thanks for intel confirming full packs. The CFO Lady seemed extremely confident they can keep Disney World and Disneyland near capacity w/limited discounting. Must still be some level of pent-up travel demand out there. Their newest cruise ship is over 90% booked which surprised me. I'm still hiding from covid during winter months...lol

If Covid hasn’t gotten you by now, you’re good.

Still getting shot # 5 at 1230 today. That stuff scares me.

Looks like we are opening right at your $90.80ish point. Should dive....I think...who knows???

WE had covid in Sept. JMO, but the new stuff seems to be very transmittable, but not that bad. We felt like we had a "very bad" cold for about 5 days and lingering effects for 10 days. We had been vaccinated, but not since April.
On October 3 I went to Walgreens to get my Flu shot. I ask the pharmacist if I shouldalso get the new covid vaccine. She gave me the Bivalent booster then.
We are in one of "the" groups. 65+ and health problems.

On Oct 25 I had a appt with my Dr. He had me to verify that I got the Bivalent booster.

Good to know. I am also at Walgreens at 1230 today. We shall see what they say.

Once the apes move along, think we can buy Disney for $85ish

Small bounce on-going...$89 now. Still thinking $85-86 is the sweet buy spot. Holding off for now. Might start 100 at a time around $87

I haven’t gotten any shots lol

Yes...I have a large group of friends who dug in and were willing to be fired from their job rather than take a shot. Luckily, it didn't come down to that decision.

Fully appreciate and respect that choice.

Lmfao well I sure am glad they’re looking out for you. I truly don’t understand how/why people are still trading crypto.

Did you climb on the rat train?

I'm still trying to understand how their costs rose that much in July - Sept?

Were they paying 200,000 employees $10/hour thru July...and then went to $18?

Hope you are on the right side of MSTR.

I haven’t even looked since I’m sure I won’t be buying to close these positions. With MSTR, even when you are wrong, it is so incredibly volatile that mistakes correct themselves with patience.

No worries. I needed some crypto exposure and took a small position through MSTR. I’m still underexposed, but things need to recover a bit before raising my percentage.
