Is there any reason other than $$$ that the tournament is this five day format with byes and double byes, rather than a four day format with just the top two getting byes?

More incentives getting to 10th and above or 4th and above instead of just 2nd/1st. Makes the end of the regular season more interesting.

Arkansas and Missouri play each other in season finale. So that's a wrap.

If there's a 4 way tie for 2nd, I wonder if mathematically it is a wrap. TN has the tie breaker versus KY and FL. But if TN, FL, and 2 others tie, I wonder if there's a possibility of TN still getting 5th?

For example, what is the order if TN, FL, MS, and MZ or Ark all tie. TN only has a tie breaker versus FL.

TN also has a tie breaker versus KY, but if they are part of a multi-team tie they eliminate MZ and FL. TN, KY, MS St, and Ark could finish in a 4 way tie.

KY beat MS and Ark / Lost to TN 2x and FL
FL beat KY, MS, Ark / Lost to TN
Ark beat TN / Lost to MS, FL, KY
Miss State beat(s) TN, Ark / Lost to FL, KY

** have not double checked the H2H results.

So it appears that TN finishes 5th if 7 games go against them.

TN goes 0-2 (@MS, GA)
FL goes 2-0 (@Bama, KY)
MS goes 2-0 (TN, @LSU)
Ark goes 2-0 (Auburn, @ Missouri)

TN's magic number for a double bye is 1.

Even if Tennessee were to lose their last two regular season games, they will have a double-bye in the SEC tournament. That is a pretty nice accomplishment for this team, especially considering where they were picked to finish in the SEC before the season started.

You keep saying that, but where are your facts to support it?

The media covering UTBB gets to report on it for the next 2 and a half days. So far it's Yahoo and WBIR versus VN's finest. We'll see who's right and who's wrong in a day or two.

We aren't going to see how it plays out. Too many things have to happen for a 4 way tie. We don't have it mathematically rapped up but realistically we do
