Spread right now is 6.5. I think I’ll take the points but Vols win. Also wouldn’t surprise me to see us double that up. I don’t think they got the horses to run with us. History says otherwise in the Swamp but as it was pointed out to me a week or so back, it’s not the vaunted place to play it once was.Mark Lawrence picked Florida to Win, Sports Reporter too, MOF, every Handicapping service has Florida as their Underdog Play; and with good reason considering the stats & trends, Ut has an abysmal record vs uf, even when fla sucks (last year's close game should have been a blowout) and especially @ Uf. Joe & Company CAN change that, if they just play like they are capable. Night game down there with all the loud drunks, going to be a challenge. This game will define Tennessee's season; and more. Hang in there guys and GO VOLS!
Well, when you've seen rookie QBs all your life come in and beat the pants off of us you have to think that it's pretty embedded. I remember Will Grier saying in 2015 that he told the team in the huddle that it's UT, they always choke and he throws the ball to a receiver in the middle of UT defenders and he takes it to the house on a 4th and forever play. Also, last year's epic whipping and we almost lost. I mean when does UF have to go for it on every 4th down to have a shot....And they almost won. We've tried that and we drop wide open passes. The last time UF played really bad against us was in 1992. That's the last time we blew them out and they've blown us out probably 15 times since then? I'd love beat UF for so many times that their fans storm the field after the 1st time they beat us in forever. Never gonna happen because I think this is the last time we play for awhile. People say these players know nothing about it, but they've been saying that same thing the last 20 years, but it seems to be some kind of Voodoo curse to me and I've been watching this rivalry since it started in 1991. The curse of Danny Wuerffel I call it. Ever since he beat our Heath Shuler led team in his first start as a freshman in 1993 it's been all UF. I'd trade playing UGA this Saturday and UF later in the year. UGA is cocky and overconfident and we don't shake in our shoes over them. We used to own them. They used to be just like us playing UF. They just couldn't beat us. They didn't get the breaks. We should have beaten UF 5 times in the last decade at least. When both UT and UF are equal, UF wins every, single, time.Anyone paying attention realizes that UT should win this game based on overall experience and talent advantage. Its lack of confidence in the offense, and in particular the perception that there is a big fall off without Hooker that is holding you back in these popularity contests.
I still think it highly likely you win. We might stay close for most of the first half based on adrenalin and a bounce or two of the ball in our direction. But it won't last and by the fourth quarter I think you will have pulled away.
Love this Locker room material. They always pick against us. Always hate us. Hope all this is bottled up. Go Vols !
3 scores is a stretch. My prediction was UF by 10. I think this game has two outcomes: we play the sloppiest game all year and lose by 10 OR we come out swinging with a chip on our shoulder and beat them by 20+. I don’t think this game becomes a shootout type game. It’s either sloppy TN beats themselves or gun-Ho TN offense finally shows up.Unfortunately i have the same thouhht they do. I’ve seen this movie too many times against that team. Hoping for the best and a Vol win, but i picked UF by three scores.
Georgia Bulldogs Youtuber 'Uncle Lou' picks UT:
He talks a bunch of smack, but I just laugh about it. Then he puts out serious content that is actually some of the best college football analysis on Youtube.
Georgia was a day gameMy biggest worry comes when I think of how we played at UGA and SC last season. Both night games on the road. Both electric atmospheres. Both stadiums filled with raucously hostile opposing fans. Both games we seemed to not be able to match the opponents' level of intensity. Yeah, we won on the road at LSU, but it was an early game and the crowd didn't seem as frenzied. Even in our own stadium last week, AP's team came out fired-up and we played like our heads were still in the locker room.
Saturday night will be an atmosphere that is similar to past games where we seemed to shrink. A win in that kind of environment on the road will be especially meaningful -- more so than the value of a W over the Gators, IMO.
