To make this speculation more interesting, does anyone know if there is any past relationship between Dooley and Shannon (excluding any threesomes with Ms. Lewinsky)?

It could be a brilliant ploy by Palardy to make VolNation completely forget about his kicking. If so, he underestimates the memory and anger that resides here.

They were both working in the city of Miami for the brief time that Dooley was on the Miami Dolphins staff with Saban. I wouldn't be surprised if they had met or if Dooley had scouted on campus at the U.

I get a really bad feeling that this Randy Shannon thing is going to turn in to the Lovie Smith's plane is circling/ John Gruden owns land in east TN and his wife was a cheerleader here thing really soon. :banghead2:

Dooley is like the Phoenix, rising from the ashes of what was left after the UK disaster.

Why would RS come to UT and not Arky? Did I read that right? Because Petrino is a mini-me Saban, without the great athletes. UT's program can attract the great athletes if it gets its act together. RS shores up what CDD sucks at - developing quality athletes with nasty attitudes. That attitude will rub off on the O-line after having to practice against them everyday.

RS is not at Arky because they didn't want to get involved with possible NCAA issues - or at least that is what they said.

I disagree about the athletes Arky can get... Maybe you didn't see Joe Adams this year.

It is hard to be optimistic when Derek Dooley is the guy making decisions. Sorry it is just lack of confidence in the man. Even if he gets the right guy for DC I see CDD making colossal errors to mess it up some way.

Which is another example that he is an idiot. Yesterday Dooley was resigning and today he says UT hires RS as the new DC.

With all the rumors floating around I will believe RS being the new DC when it is officially announced.
