Crompdaddy has a new nickname, the Phoenix. Haven't you heard?

Man I hope you are right, I love the Orange, I hate the Crimson, But I don't believe we have the Guns to Beat them at home. Hope I am wrong, I have been wrong once or twice. lol :)

If we are going to have any shot against Alabama our front 7 on defense is going to have to play their game of the year. Alabama is just going to try and wear us down up front all game. If they do that, and it becomes lopsided in the 2nd half on time of possession, Bama wins this thing easily.

This just in.....Crompton scored twice Saturday night and once Sunday with local hotties. His motivation is now sky high once he found the benefits of playing like a big time QB. Overheard muttering....We score, I score...amazing! Film at 11:00. :zeitung_lesen:

I think the key will be the OL must protect, the receivers must catch like Saturday and Crompton must play with poise, not panic! I know Bama is good all over and their Defense is awesome, but our Defense should be the best they have seen as well. If we hammer their new QB a few times who knows what might happen! The Kiffins will have a plan and I'm down with that! Also, Bamma is due for a bad game just like Georgia and we have already had our bad game.

First off, congrats to Jon on a great performance Saturday!! He played awesome and I'm happy for him. Now, with that said, does anyone else think we are in for a big let down next Saturday in Tuscaloosa? Im not trying to be negative but with JC putting on that kinda show against GA and as far as I know, never putting together two performances like that back to back, it scares the orange outta me what might happen. One thing we know JC can do is play terrible in big game situations. I guess what Im tryin to say is I'm just not confident enough to beleive that JC will play big against Bama. I hope he proves my butt wrong but I'm just curious if anyone else feels this way?

I am with you. He had as good a performance against Georgia as any TN QB that has wore the jersey...but...he has had many more of the worst performances I have ever seen. He needs to do more than play good in one game during his 5 year career for me to jump on his jock.

I have the same concern. Can our OL match up with their front 7 ? That & Special Teams are my biggest fears. Go Vols !

If the WR's run good routes and catch the ball, Crompton will be fine. Bama will play tighter coverage but that may give more opportunities for bigger plays both in the run game and pass game.

Let's be honest. Beating Bama this year is a long shot. They're probably the best team in the country right now and are deeply talented everywhere.

We have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy here on Volnation.

Hmmm....so what wll Kiffin cook up for Bama. Bama is going to try to defend the run and roll outs so and I am guessing two-three LBs assigned to the middle on Blitz/run stop. One LB will be spying/containing Crompton depending on what hash we are on who it is will change. One LB will drop back n coverage much of the time. Mix in some corner blitzes from time to time. So what would you gameplan on that? Consdering there LBs are likely to execute great and have speed.

Roll the pocket and keep the fullback in to chip the rushers and sneak into the flats.

I don't think you can expect Crompton to have as good of a performance against Alabama as he did against Georgia. Alabama's defense is much better. I just hope he does not make any major mistakes.

JC doesn't have to play lights out. If he plays mistake free (and assuming we shore up special teams), this game will be close in the fourth quarter. It's then up to a big play / championship mentality.

Given the Bama defense though, cheerleaders should be on Amber Alert for a few JC throw-aways.

In three SEC games coming into Knoxville the GA D gave up 427 ypg to SC, Ark & LSU. Only one of those (Ark) is in the top half of the conference in total offense.

Just saying.

Great point. I see nothing pointing to which Crompton shows up. I do pray and wish that the Crompton we saw against UGA is the one we see the rest of the year. Even if he does play good alot of other things would have to go our way to win. Our OL will be really tested by Bama's DL. Still if Crompton plays good the rest of the year we should win the rest of our games outside of Bama. Also Kiffin will be considered a QB coaching God.

I'm not sure what the over/under on this game will be but im fairly confident most money will be on the under

2 awesome defenses and again Monte will matchup great with Bama's O

UGA isn't a great defensive team but they are better than Auburn and much more talented than Ohio. The fact that there's been improvement really isn't debatable. How much improvement is debatable... until the next 2 games. Both of those teams have good to great D's.
