First off, congrats to Jon on a great performance Saturday!! He played awesome and I'm happy for him. Now, with that said, does anyone else think we are in for a big let down next Saturday in Tuscaloosa? Im not trying to be negative but with JC putting on that kinda show against GA and as far as I know, never putting together two performances like that back to back, it scares the orange outta me what might happen. One thing we know JC can do is play terrible in big game situations. I guess what Im tryin to say is I'm just not confident enough to beleive that JC will play big against Bama. I hope he proves my butt wrong but I'm just curious if anyone else feels this way?

Im not hatin on the guy, I hope he plays good the rest of the year. Im just goin by what Ive seen most of his carreer. And yes I had a bad feeling last week and he proved me wrong which I hope he does next weekend. Im not hatin here, just had a question asking what others thoughts were.

Cue the Crompton haters in 3...2...1...

........and lift off.............

Need to see consistency before I am convinced. Not quite there yet. Glad to see that there is a glimmer of hope, because haven't seen that since WKU game.

doesnt' matter what u think, only what JC thinks.......he's feeling good, alot better than gettin' death threats, and total hate.......feel good 4 the kid, wish him the best, and let's go kick the Sh#T outta these Rednecks.......

I have a feeling that McKelroy gets drilled this weekend, and won't play against UT.....that's my prediction.....

UT 27
Bama 15

If we manage 27 points on that defense, I will be amazed.

LOL, I said I'm happy for the kid, I dont have any hate for any of our players no matter how good or bad they are. Like I said, I'm going by past performances and it makes me nervous. If you'll read my whole post, I said I hope he proves me wrong.

Agreed he looked great! He needs to string together a couple of good performances to win some real confidence though.

In my opinion Saturday's game was a BIG GAME!!
We needed that win as bad as any.
I'm feeling pretty good about Crompton, he has shown improvement over the last three games.
GO VOLS!!!!!!!

I don't believe the Alabama defense will let him get as comfortable as the Georgia defense did.

I think CLK built a good plan around JCs strengths. What I mean by that is he is obviously more comfortable throwing on the run. He does not look comfortable in the pocket. O line continues to block well we can make it difficult for Bama

You can't expect the world from the guy. I don't know what happened from the 1:30 mark of the 2nd quarter of the Auburn game to now, but he is just hitting basic passes he wasn't able to read a defense and hit before in his entire collegiate career. He would look even better, too, if Hancock hadn't dropped that over the shoulder on the right sideline in the Auburn game.

A big part of this is him being helped by his receivers in the last two games. They haven't dropped much of anything. You could say that interception TD against Georgia was a drop since it hit the WR's hands, but it was still behind Rogers (I think that was who it was). I think the other big part of his success has been the play calling the last couple of games. I thought through the first 4 games Lane was terribly inconsistent with his play calling. The decision to throw 3 straight passes after the 41 yard run by Nuke on the opening drive of the Auburn game was a perfect example of this. That was just a horrible job by Lane, there, especially considering how bad Auburn's run defense was/is.

We are going to see how much Crompton has come around this next game. Alabama's defense is about as good as it gets. If they are smart they will have their pass rushing OLB's and DE's do everything possible ot contain him in the pocket. It seems the most success Crompton has had in the last game and a half has come off of roll outs and bootlegs. A good defense, like Alabama's, will surely make sure they don't allow this. And knowing their defense, they will be successful at this for about at least 90% of that game.

You want to see Crompton have any chance at continued success? Run Hardesty to set up play action. That is going to give him the best shot. I hope it happens, though.

Now you want a real conversation...... someone tell me what hte hell is going on with the special teams. All offseason I was so pumped because we finally had a special teams coach that would teach our players how to cover kicks and block on kicks and kick returns. That pretty much hasn't happened from Gran. I'm beyond disappointed in our special teams. It has been atrocious, save Lincoln. Considering what he was like last year, he has stepped up big time.

Special teams is what will keep us from winning games that we can stay in against superior opponents.

How can we have a big let down we will be a major under dog?

Will be interesting to see if Satan will bring any corner heat. If he does we need some quick hitters in the flats.

Very good point. Crompton and the Vols offense will have to take what they can get from the Bama Defense. Unless the sky is falling, I do not expect him to throw the ball all over the yard against that defense. I expect a very physical game from both teams and field position will be a key. I like how CLK has Crompton rolling out of the pocket more. Look for more wide receiver screens and quick slants if that coverage plays off the line like they did against Ole Miss at times last week.

I don't think you can expect Crompton to have as good of a performance against Alabama as he did against Georgia. Alabama's defense is much better. I just hope he does not make any major mistakes.

We have 2 weeks to get the game plan in place which I beleive will CLK's best yet. I think with CMK being familiar with a 3-4 defense which is used alot in the NFL I think will be a big help. Remember Mcelroy is a first year starter and I think he will finally play like it.
