All Thangs Pussum and Chad Thread

Amendment: if I’m running in sub 20° weather, I wear compression tights/leggings. Y’all can laugh at that, but running is where I find peace and have my best conversations with my Maker. And when it’s cold, I don’t like running in loose sweatpants.

Behr, if you’re in Florida running in sub 20° weather, stop. The end is nigh and you should be doing more important things

Only compression I wear is undershorts to minimize chafing. Probably close to 20 half marathons, 4 full marathons, six ultra relay races and two regular relay races, loose but not baggy clothing and really good socks are mostly all I need.

But I bit** and quit fast. What do I know
Slow down. I'm on your team.
Compression socks don't help your feet issues?

No. I tore my calf six years ago or so and wore the cep compression calf sleeves while recovering. Once I healed, they bothered me more than helped. I did wear an ankle compression sleeve early in the recovery process of this injury. But it doesn’t do much now.

I wear balega blister resist no show socks and love them. About to throw a couple pair away that are at least seven years old. Which means I get to but a couple new pair!

I ain't running marathons, I'm walking 3-5 miles 6 days a week. I have a couple of health issues I'm trying to work around and make it as painless as possible. New shoes will help. New socks won't hurt.

I enjoy cold weather running down to about 12-14 degrees.

I thought about socks this morning. I need some new socks. I love wearing brand new ones and I haven't bought any in a while.
I got two packs for Christmas. Pack for work, then a pack of no shows

i realize those socks are expensive, but I probably wear each pair 4 times a month. So a seven year shelf life and very rare instances of blisters despite all my long runs. I’ll keep buying them.

I think we have discussed this, you have done the Marine Corps Marathon correct?

Are the socks pretty padded on the ball and heel....of the foot.

Making sure it doesn't hit the context thread.

Nothing crazy padded. But compared to Walmart specials, absolutely better padded. Even far better padded than the Nike or Adidas 3 or 6 packs you can buy at sporting goods store. I mean there’s a reason they’re so much (although that seems $3 more a pair than the last time I bought some)

And I can wear them all day, or an entire long run and they never get loose or slip out of place.
