Technics tt direct drive, what reciever and speakers?

Sony STR- DE985 from late 90s or early 00s, don’t remember exactly when I got it.

Speakers are random box speakers a buddy gave me long ago, but they still sound good.

I love the vintage stuff. Got a harmon kardon reciever from the early 90s, and a sansui db 90? I think, its early 70s. Matching speakers for both. Picked up the sansui at a yard sale for 10$. I could sell it for 1200$, but I wont. Also have a pair of klh speakers that are about the same age as me. Haven't ventured back into the vinyl arena, maybe someday

I bought the receiver specifically because it had a phono amp, not many did 20 years ago before the hipsters got into vinyl.
