Our defense isn’t very good and Lebby is a good offensive coach and will exploit that. State moved the ball last year on us and we had a much better defense last season. This is also a chance for a statement victory for Miss.St and to go 5-0 and get ranked in the Top 25. It’s a huge game for us as well we cannot afford to lay an egg here and drop to 0-2 in conference play before October. I have concerns with our defense but i don’t think State will able to stop or slow down our offense. Vols win 45-33

I thought this would have been a nice time to try something different like the black helmet with orange jersey and black or orange pants. Save the all-black for home, but still do something novel.

Yep, won’t have a full board, but should see a few squares and spotty blotches of ORANGE. Hope they need to make noise a lot on both sides of the ball.

Not usually a fan of the all-orange (with Tennessee helmets) but it really looked good against our healthy, green turf last weekend.

In yielding all of their team color to the visitors, Miss State is yielding all the psychological benefit that any tribal event requires. The only "color" in the stadium will be Tennessee's. For that, I'll take all-Orange for the win.

Ironic that the Tennessee game coincided with Starkville's annual laundry day.

My biggest fear is mixing in a few drops and penalties that end series early on the road. We have been great overcoming those this season, BUT…..

Agreed. Everything is harder on the road and a few bad plays at the wrong time can change the complexion of a game. We need to establish ourselves on offense early and not let them put us on our heels. We should win this game, but it is by no means an automatic W.

The narrative that our D isn't very good just is incredibly overblown based on a bunch of snaps that don't matter and a rivalry match against the best team in the SEC.

I also love the orange helmets! How many games have we lost wearing orange helmets vs white? Some on here are too superstitious! Go Vols!

I agree with your assessment. People look at points allowed and automatically assume that out defense isn't any good. We gifted Syracuse 14 points, fumble on our end of the field near the goal line and a blown coverage when the reserves were in. Georgia was a turnover on our end of the field. UAB muffled punt and blown coverage led to 10 points directly.
