Coaches are supposed to know if players can cut it when the pressure is on. You simulate the pressure in practice. How many game winners did Jeff Hall miss? I can't remember any.I agree this will be the best lesson for this young man. He’s only a sophomore so he will have many chances to keep getting tested and will become better for it for sure. I’ve never been in his shoes for sure and I can only imagine I’d be a mess of nerves with a stadium full of people too.
I agree with you, but man how do you simulate that crowd and the intensity of that moment other than just going through it? He seems like a sharp young man and I’ll bet we see a different kicker emerge from this.Coaches are supposed to know if players can cut it when the pressure is on. You absolutely CAN NOT simulate in practice the immense pressure of a game winning kick against a top 5 program in front of 102K and a TV audience of millions.Coaches are supposed to know if players can cut it when the pressure is on.
