All 4 Inside College Football guests pick NC State

If we run the football well this will be a blowout from the opening wistle. If we don't run it well this will be a shootout and who knows who wins. This game will not come down to defense. It sits squarely on the shoulders of our OL and RB's. But I'll say this: if we can't line up and run it down their throats then we f-ing suck again. Period.

This , so tired of excuses... win or be GONE:good!:

How is that a plausible reason?

Its simple. If we run the ball effectively their offense stays off of the field. If we don't run the ball well and we end up in a shootout the defenses will be gassed by the passing games quickly. At that point who knows who wins the game. I would like to think that were a better passing team as well but Glennon is good. We'll see.

What? If we don't blow out the team picked to win the ACC on the first game of the season we are doomed? What if we win by 4 pts and run the table the rest of the year? Not saying that it is going to happen, but your statement is off the mark.

we beat cincy last year by 20+ and lost soundly to florida and georgia before bray got hurt... if we squeak by we are looking at another 500ish year. idk why that is unreasonable what do you think the SEC teams were playing would do to NC State? win by 20

I don't really see what all the outrage is about. It's kind of surprising that none of them picked us to win, but it's not like they're so out of the loop that they just gave random reasons why we won't win. Our defense and run game are going to be the weak points of the team. We all knew going into this season that as the passing game goes, so will this team.

Defense will no longer be a weak point after A.J. kills Glennon and McCullers eats his remains, IMO.

Win the ACC?

So then it would be a shootout between the offenses? That is my point.

I'm not real sure why people think a group of guys who couldn't line up and run the ball down the throat of Montana, MTSU or Kentucky is all of a sudden going to start doing it simply because the calendar says its a different year. The O-line is great at pass blocking, but I think people are just going to have to accept that they are what they are with regards to run blocking as well. Like I said earlier, IMO, as the passing game goes, so will this team.

Hunter went down in the Florida game, the whole team lost it's swagger when it happened. Watch the replay if you wish, it shocked the team and things started going south. Not all SEC teams would beat them by 20, that is a statement that has no backing at all. The Georgia game wasn't a blow out, UT had every chance to be in that game and didn't perform .

You read your calendar. We'll read ours. I look at it differently. What allowed Poole to rush for over 1000 yards in 2010,,,but only had what,,600 in 2011? I say that this years O-line has had 9 months of S&C - plus a new O-line coach,,not to mention an RB coach. If you really feel they regress, well that's your opine. I happen to think they will surprise more than a few. Yes, we will be a passing team, it would be foolish not to go to our strength. But we also have the tools and speed in place to perform a little bit of what Florida has been so successful at - some true speed in the backfield. We may not have the power run game but we'll have the speed.

I can agree with that, having a little more speed and at least 2 competent WR could spread the field a bit and open up the outside running game. But IMO this cast at offensive line is simply never going to be the type that can line up and go straight ahead and get 3 tough yards when the opposition knows its coming. That's just not who they are. I think just like the last couple years, we'll have to pass the overwhelming majority of the time on 3rd or 4th and short.

the teams that we are trying to compete with would beat them by 20 they were 4-4 in the acc...

You can't blame analysts for picking NC State. They're the safe pick. Since the beginning of the season, UT has lost a lot of firepower and depth on offense as well as depth at CB and LB. Da'Rick, Lanier, Bynum, Clear, Downs, Bourque and even Bullock. I hope they can stay healthy and a freshman WR steps up big time. Damn You Da'Rick!

Ever notice the "expert" is usually a Jewish guy that never played sports in his life next to ex players and ex coaches.... Greenberg and Golic ...and most every show on ESPN?...and effin Finebaum!

Schmucks!

NC State is one of the teams picked to win the ACC this year. Google it, plenty of articles out there.

Almost all the articles I've seen have NC State picked 3rd in their division. Quite a few outlets do have them mentioned as a sleeper or dark horse though.

I suppose you drive your car looking in the rear view mirror. I'm not going to fill you in on the new O line coach, strength coach, Jay Graham, etc. Do some research on the "here and now".

But its still the same guys who in almost 100 combined starts haven't show even a tiny inkling of a hint of run blocking ability. Like I said, they can pass block with the best of them, but if they were going to suddenly morph into this awesome run blocking unit, I think we would have at least seen some signs of that by now.

Neal had 190 or so in the last scrimmage. Hopefully it was O improvement and not D decline.

Bottom line is the O line are 4 stars across the board. A new proven line and RB coach will make a world of difference
